Why do people think God is different person. He is the same identity taught to different audiences. Think about it like this:

In the western world, Christianity is the main religion. In the middle-east it's Islam. In the far east it's Hinduism. I think God is one thing, but because of culture, he/she has been given different attributes.

In the west we've been the more practical, if someone came and preached meditation to us, we'd be like, "Whoa, dude, get off!" So all of religion is a means to the same end, except Buddhism, because Buddha was never a God, just some dude with ideas...

Most people have come to this conclusion.

Just think of God as a way to answer ALL of life's questions.

Different cultures create different gods to answer different questions.

Also, meditation is practiced in the west. What do you think prayer is?

Prayer isn't meditation, meditation is where you think and concentrate your mind. Prayer is where you sit and think or say shit to someone who probably isn't listening.

This is one of my favorite quotes:

"To understand God is to listen, listen to Jesus and Muhammed and Buddha; but don't get caught up in the names. Listen beyond them; listen to God's breath."

Could one say, 'praying' is talking to god

while 'medidation',

is listening?
