Tom Cruise because he is stupid as hell.
Katie Holmes because she loves Tom (which proves that she is also stupid as hell).
Tom Cruise is insane and mentally unstable. Katie is just following him.
It's a perfect celebrity religion. Their place is determined by how much money they can give the head church. In return the church gives them secret knowledge that allows them to feel superior and a cure all for their problems.

Some race of aliens supposedly wiped out all humans 75 million years ago (forgetting that we were supposed to be evolved into humans only 65 million years ago http://www.totse.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif) )
Their race will "beam us up" if we rid ourselves of thetans, or some bullshit like that.

Scientology makes about as much sense as a virgin birth...
A virgin birth - implying a birth not resulting from impregnation by a male individual - is not as impossible as it sounds. From a purely materialistic standpoint, the mechanism would be parthenogenesis (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=parthenogenesis).
It is not uncommon in some lower life forms, but for human beings... a miracle would be required.

dude...beck is a scientologist?
Basically in scientology, 75 million years ago there was a civilization just like our, with people just like ours. It was a giant space civilization. Over population was messing with everything so the overlord Xenu put a bunch of people, called thetans, onto a space plane that looked exactly like a DC-10 and brought them to earth. He set them up around all the volcanos and blew them up with tons of nukes. He then "reprogramed" the thetans to believe they live on earth and Jesus is God and everything that we believe. These thetans stick to us and cause problems. They are also the reason why we believe in false Gods. Now, the church will help you cleanse yourself of these thetans, for a fee of course. A cleansed person is then able to see "the truth."
Note, I may have mixed a couple things up, I was just typing from memory. Oh and Hubbard, the creator was on a shit load of drugs when he made it all up.

Provided you make a substantial donation http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)
In the past the church was also known for using laywers, black mail and death threats to keep the scam going and to prevent higher level information getting out to anyone who hadn't paid.
Edit to other post: I was slightly incorrect, we have a thetan soul and the cleansing is to clear our soul of all the false information so we can remember our true heritage.

Isn't Scientology according to the US government considered a business and not a religious organization? Correct me if I'm wrong but I guess that would explain why all these celebrities are pouring their money into this scam.

I thought it was developed by hypnotizing patients, and tapping into old memories from previous life, where the hypnotizer found that people have been many species of different aliens. I don't believe it because our brains are extremely powerful and can create immaginary worlds in great detail, especially if were coached in the right way.
I get visions and spychic phenomenon that gives me glimpses of what a person is thinking. I've gotten a few of these when people are reading science fiction intensely. It's very easy to get confused by a vision that's real or fiction, when fiction is within the laws of science. Like star trek, it's potentially possible for us to one day actually explore space in this fashion. Even a photon torpedo is a very real weopon that one day will probably be built.
