Although many do say that 'the number of the beast 666', Rev. 13:18 refers to Nero Caesar (Aramaic - Nron Ksr 666)



There are just too many ideas on Revelations, so I'm putting a hold on it for now...

What still strikes me is the frequent references to 'soon'...if what was written in Revelations has already taken place (because a lot of time has passed)...then...it surely must have been written in some sort of code to protect those who would be in danger????

...and if it hasn't...then wouldn't the use of the word 'soon' suggests that it is a failed prophecy???

There is much evidence to show that Revelations was simply a book about how Christianity would eventually overcome the Roman oppression that it suffered, but could not be openly written as such because that would get the whole lot jailed and killed faster because it would cause the Romans to look for them.

Gorloche, please refrain from posting in my threads in future. i was hoping to hear from the few forum members who actually know something about the bible.

That is simply uncalled for, Jack. I've done a bit of Biblical study myself (I do fancy ymself to be a bit of a theological student), as it is the leading religion right now, and these were correlations I found on my own before posting. I figured it would worth having the input of an opposed view. Counterpoint, for those who know music theory. There's no need to take umbrage at my post or me. To claim I do not know the Bible because I don't agree with you on parts or interpret extremely vague, as-yet-undeciphered books differently is sheer ignorance. I do admit, however, the layout and geometry (and gematria) found within Solomon's Temple is intrigung both from a Bible-code and occultist stand-point. Hell, occultism was practally founded upon the basis of sacred geometry, gematria and Solomon's Temple, all things heavily prevelent in Israel at the time of the major reign of the Davidic line. A little meditation on some of the more esoteric aspects of the numerology within the Bible yeild very interesting results.

In closing, I respect yor posts for being rather unbiased and fair, but you really were a douche to me for no reason. I posted valid material in the correct thread.

douche?? me?? uhm yes i do try hard. although to be frank, now you've edited your post, i can't for the life of me remember what the hell it was that pissed me off so much that i replied before my 2nd coffee of the morning.

as to the links you've posted, i must say wiki on revelation seems better than i remember it.
