Why did A Gorilla type his entire post in caps? It wasn't even an important question. Every word was in caps for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Was A Gorilla on acid when he typed this, and accidentally pressed the Caps Lock button?

Actually, the first response was a mistake.

Secondly, given those two options I'd have to say I'm stupid.

Lastly, I flipped through my Bible and found not a single randomly italicized word (from what I scanned). What Bible are you talking about?

I was expecting a biblical scholar with phd's in at least 3 different fields of biblical scholarship to give me an indepth essay about the formattiing of the Bible.

Furthermore I was referring to a King James Edition.

The KJV translators were being honest when they italicized because every italizied word denotes that there wasnt a word there before.

Such as in Greek: the phrase "She is beutiful" can be said as one word. However, in English, we dont have that same utility of language.

In other places, the italicized words help you out because a word for word translation would leave alot of ideas as ambiguous or downright confusing. Therefore they were added to convey the spirit of what the manuscript was expressing.
