I'm trying to act as a mediator being two of my very good friends.

One is an athiest like me. But he has some odd views.. He was trying to explain to his girlfriend that he believes that Christians worship the devil.

Her response was to go slightly crazy as she's a strong Christian at heart.

His reasoning was this -

In believing in God and Satan you are opening yourself up to the fear etc that comes with believing in Hell.

So.. My friend believes if you even "give the Devil the satisfaction of being believed in" you are effectively praising him.

So his girlfriend, of course, goes and looks up the meaning of praising lol.

Then later on I got into quite the argument with the girl.. she was trying to say that Christians do not fear the Devil.. Lol..

I can see where my other friend is coming from in saying that in believing in the Devil you just have another thing to be frightened of. But I dunno about this whole praise thing.. opinions?

So what? It makes no difference (obviously) whether he is right or wrong.

Still, tis interesting to see them tussle over it. Was just wondering what everyone else thought.

Christians worship, Jesus, Mary and God. The devil is the antithesis of those things. Presented there to show people what isn't right.

Ok, so they're not praising him, but they're recognising that there are actions of sin and evil which are represented in the religion by el diablo.

Ask ur friend's gf if she is worshipping YHVH. If she is then its not lucifer.

there is a large differance in believing that something is there, and believeing IN it. Example, I believe that my president is George W. Bush. I do NOT believe IN him because he is one shitty ass president.
