View Full Version : No humans=No God
a thought came to me a short while ago that if the human race ceased to exist so will the possible existance of god. If there is no one to spread the influence of god, then god would cease to exist because of no belief in it. same thing with Jesus, if no one was there to witness his crusifiction or if he died in jail alone would we still know about him.

so your saying humans created god?

we ARE physically mortal

All religions with gods maintain that the gods existed even before there were humans.

Why is it so hard to imagine that theres nothing after death just like we wre nothing before?

Poster: perhaps the human idea of a God would not exist any more, but God (if He exists) would still exist, because He is eternal.

It isn't hard to imagine, it's impossible. If you claim you are capable of conceiving infinity, then I will be forced to call you a liar.

When i try to imagine my existence ceasing, I imagine just black, and then try to think about what is beyond that, if the blackness where to be gone.
If that makes any sense...
And no humans means God will still exist, but not be aknowledged.

I have a similiar theory. I don't necisarily subscribe to it, but I think it's a logical idea: God created humans in order to validate his existance. He would exist with or without humans, but without humans he really is meaningless whereas with humans that believe in him he is all meaningfull. Human faith in god is what makes god worth believing in, in other words.

What makes you assume there was nothing before, though?

i find it incredibly simple to think of ther ebeing nothing after death.
we are biological machines, when these machines cease to function, so does their actions and purpose and conciousness.
simple.
