theological question: is it better to do good for an evil purpose or evil for a good purpose?
Depends on what you want.

How could you do good for an evil purpose?
Example.
do good for evil purpose: helping someone so you can just benefit of them more when you stab them in the back.
And I came up with that answer far too easily.

teaching children to read using the satanic bible.
most people would agree that that is doing good in the name of evil- you're teaching kids to read, after all. but they think for themselves afterwards, and that shouldn't be allowed.

Neither. Put shit in a pipe and shit comes out of a pipe.

Motives have to be the ultimate basis for determining the morality of any act, so doing anything (good or evil) for evil purposes would be worse.

Do what feels good.
That's all anybody really
does anyhow.
BTW...
There's no such thing
as good and evil.

but how do you define evil purposes? islamic extremists may suicide bomb because they feel they need to fight back against the xian western world that's been opressing them.
good or evil purposes? if you say good, you're supporting suicide bombing, which i assume your religion would consider a sin.
but if you say evil, you're saying that everybody who killed anybody in the american, or french, or any revolution, was doing a fundamentally evil act, while they just meant to fight opression.
either way i'd say you're being hypocritical.
how would you objectively define good or evil acts?

the point being that no human action can be totally good nor evil. every good has some evil in it etc etc.

well, heres a brain twister.
you may do evil to be allowed to do an act of good so that you can do an act of evil in order to further the greater good.
for example: johnny Durkha, an islamic fundamentalist, may have to kill an american to save the life of a member of Al-Cry-da so he can become an agent for them and hurt america's government to turn its people into islamic fundamentalists so that allah can rule the world.
