What the fuck is wrong with them? I play guitar for a contempory gospel band at a local catholic church. Anyway, I tried to get conformation(sp?) classes for my stepbrother...who is catholic. They kept trying to push ME into it too. The band organizer, the people in the band, and Father Joe.

To answer your question, almost any religion is going to push you to join, especially if you're regularly at their church. Go volunteer at a baptist church, or any church and they'll ask if you're a member. You'll say no. They'll ask if you want to be. You'll say no. They'll ask if you're sure. You'll say yes. Then they'll semi-ostracize you. This happened to me at a clothes drive I volunteered at.

I have certainly shared my opinion. That I haven't shared it with the likes of you is another story. Don't confuse you not knowing my opinions on things as others not knowing them or with me not expressing them. Not only have I expressed them here on totse at various times, but by other means also(be it a chat, instant messenger service or e-mail).

In any case, what I promised:

The majority of religions are going to be seeking members because their continual success depends on it. This is not surprising. Since it is not surprising, I feel the topic itself isn't that important or pressing, which is exactly why I didn't post my opinion and instead decided to point out your hypocrisy when attacking someone I feel is a productive member of totse -- something I feel is much more important than my opinion in the topic at hand.

Does that suffice?
