People who do meditation in parks with Asian music playing. Kind of creepy. Two of them with a sign were in my town for a while, as well as some people handing out pamphlets. What do you know about them?

Aren't they that semi-political religion that is persecuted HEAVILY in China?

Other than possibly that, I know nothing about them.

Another niche religion I've found here is Eckankar. They seem to be an offshoot of Christianity.

My friend is one of them.

I visited him and read his books.

The leader of this religion/cult has not graduated from elemetary school and he wrote books with theories so deep. In his book, he claims that his soul (except he doesn't call it soul, he called it "celestial body" or something similar) has travelled back through time and traced back the origins of humanity.

He said the world/humanity has been re-started 81 times.

When men reached the peak of their evilness, the gods will always re-start the world to correct this problem. He preaches that we all should start being compassionate and stop sinning and offending the gods, otherwise the world will be rebooted again.

He also claims that we never evolved, all the different bones we found belong to humans of different races. He also claims that there are giants and dwarfs. Our Egyptian pyramids were not originally built by Egyptians, but the designs were instead copied from gigantic pyramids built by giant humans. That's right, our Egyptian pyramids is a miniature version of the original pyramids.

He cite the following as example(sorry, I cannot give too many examples, as I read the books last year), that we never evolved:

-a photo of a fossiled sandal-print over a fossil of trilobyte. Suggesting that humans were already quite advanced (note the modern footwear) millions of years ago. These humans

were not from our era. They were the from the earlier world that has now been erased. (From the earlier versions of "The Matrix")

-In the last century, an ancient nuclear power plant over a uranium mine was discovered somewhere in Europe (France, if my memory hasn't failed me). What's remarkable is that this nuclear power plant was thought to have been functioning for 10,000 years, while our current technology makes it impossible to not retire a nuclear power plant after merely 100 years.

It's not a cult or anything. It's really just a practise of meditation. I did a massive study on it last year, I'll try and dig it up.

I'm Chinese and I know a bit about it. Training the mind to obscure reality to our advantage. Eating glass, burning cinders into our skin and smashing poles on our heads without feeling pain whilst strengthening the body. Some women who practise it fast for several days. See, the Chinese government thinks this is too dangerous so they ban it but other countries such as Australia allow it because of some freedom law...
