Placebo effect.

Most people know that thinking something is working, eg: sugar tablets, makes the mind make you not sicknessing (I'm very tired sorry if it made no sense.)

So,

Milions of people believing in god will make a god (maybe)

Meh you know what i mean.

I'll elaborate later.

Your point seems rather obvious.

Did you ever hear of the godforming ceremony in choas magic?

Sure, it'll help establish the idea of God, but it wouldn't create the actual entity.

True. You need an adept to create the initial godform, including a reservoir for said energy. Then you need devotees to worship and believe in said god. After a while the god will become more and more real, and eventually your cult/coven (neither are derogratory words) will have it's own private god.

Thats how it works in theory. I have never heard of anyone succeeding in living memory, although crowley may have got close with Thelema.

A god may be distinguished from an servitor or egregore by the power contained, and also a god must be fully sentient ie. self aware. Can you tell god-forming is not a good idea? I have heard of one guy who tried to become a god using this method see http://chaosmatrix.org/ for more.

As a polytheist I regularly pray and offer sacrifices to gods.
