Scenario is such:

sinner becomes good after realising the errors of his ways, turns bad again only to realise that God is getting pritty pissed (Rev. and such).

What is the possibility of forgiveness?

This question only makes sense in the context of religions that assume god to be personal. In the case of Christianity for example, the act of confession absolves anybody of anything (at least, this is my understanding) as long as they confess to a priest and seek salvation in Jesus Christ etc. There is nothing I have ever heard of that says even people like Hitler wouldn't be absolved of all sin if they confessed, there are no conditions attached.

If you think about it, it is in itself a source for immoral behaviour. If somebody believes what the Church says, and thinks they have unlimited Get Out Of Jail Free cards if they just make a confession, what's to really stop them from doing whatever they want? How many people in the past have looked at it like this, and done something terrible without worrying that God would never forgive them?
