To belive in a religion is to lack the proper understanding of what contradicts that belief. that principle in itself states that belief is naive.

Religion is the opiate of the masses and must be stopped.

Then to believe Karl Marx is to not understand the contradictions against his shitty, fictional, pseudo-economic "system".

And no- it's to believe something. That logic is horribly flawed. Stop trolling.

Edit- honestly, what's with this "must be stopped" crap? Religion has existed for nearly as long as man, if not as long. It still exists today, and will always exist in some form or another. So, religious people are naive? Everyone is naive. Nice try, but this won't get anywhere. Please say something undeniably cool, I retract my statement.

Lou Reed, did you even read the entire post?

fool.

you only quoted half of it you bastard. and Random_looney, yeah thats exactly what I'm saying. Religious people are naive, they are passing responsibility on to a higher power, not only that, but people who have faith in religion are restricting their life by a set of rules and regulations, which is, in essence being naive.

the exact same thing could be said about you.

that to not believe in a religion is to lack the proper understanding of what contradicts that belief.

I think the people that believe in things that have no basis, or concrete evidence to support their belief, are the problem with society. It's not just religion, it's everywhere. If you believe in something, but can't give logical reasoning as to how you came to such a conclusion, you've been brainwashed through propaganda. Most brainwashing is done so that a some power hungy body can use your power for thier own agendas.

People use this tactic to create chaos within society to gain more power. Doesn't matter whether it's money, power through numbers, or both. Divide and conquer.

How do you know if your brainwashed? Ever get in an argument with someone over your belief, but you had nothing to back it while the opposition had lots that supported their opinion? That's brainwashed.

I find the idea of a god so absurd. I'm not saying that there couldn't be one, just that there isn't enough evidence to support the idea of one, without being completely ignorant to lack of proof. This is what makes religious people stupid in my eyes. It's one thing to say that god is possible, but to list his directions on how to live life, and specific instruction on what right and wrong while not even being able to prove that even a god exists, is hilarious.

I think it's funny that if Christians spent as much time and money on their communities rather than on the church, they'd find that their community would actually reflect the teachings of Jesus.

Religion needs to end not because it's stupid, but rather because it's dangerous. Irrational people that believe irrational things, react irrationally for the most part. The potential of using religion to back an oppressive regime's agenda, is very much a threat, and George Bush knows how it's done.

You know what causes like 90% of crime in most modern nations? The drug war. People who understand the true reality of the drug war understand that the crime is a spinoff from the drugs being illegal, not because of the drugs. The largest opposition to drug reform is religious fundamentalists. They don't even know why drugs should be illegal, but it's not their choice, so they figure nobody should use them. They're also the number one lobbiest for anti-alcohol and anti-tobacco movements fuelled by studies that border on shady released by government agencies.

Who gives these people the bullshit they use to support their beliefs, the government. The government keeps drugs illegal because it's profitable to do so. Many of our illegal street drugs are better pharmaceuticals than what are available, as well as other trade this could effect. I basically comes down to the fact that drugs are easy to produce and trade, but are almost impossible to tax.

So the war rages on because of misinformation spread through churches and government institutions. It's pretty easy to manipulate churchies if you can convince them that their religion supports that view. These policies cost governments billions of dollars every year to enforce, so that the few rich, that don't pay taxes, can make a little more money. Crime pays, especially when you make up a crime that lots are already commiting.

The scale of bullshit idealistic laws that have been passed over the last few years because of the sheepish qualities of those who follow religion is staggering. I think we would be much better off without religion.
