View Full Version : the whole point to christianity
Look christianity in the end is about god. Above the rules, the ethics, the history, above eneything everything it all comes down to god's superiority. That is the meaning of life if you're a christian, that god is better than us and our happiness doesn't matter as long as we continue to live for god. Living for god. Thats it, thats everything, its all about god. That is life. Now this principle is what concerns me the most about christianity because that principle is all christianity's purpose is in the end. Christians enforce rules, doctrines and their morals but not for our sake. Its for god's sake. Its not for our own stablility and welfare, its for god. the morals imposed aren't even for our own benefit they're for god's benefit and they're only enforced because thats what god wants, its just to make god happy because like i said in the end EVERYTHING is about god. And god makes this abundantly clear in the bible, these are his intentions for the entirety of humanity. What annoys me is that most christians (i've had many experiences with many different christians, i recently was one so i'm not not just being naive) completely ignore the that the arrogance of god is not a good thing. The arrogance of god is the entire meaning to life. We don't matter, god does. Even when god wants us to be strong he wants us to do it through him. now you can tell that the whole analogy that god is just a loving parent looking after his children, but what type of loving parent has children intentionally that they devote their lives entirely to them(by them i mean the parent ie god, just to clarify)? no loving parent has children in order so that they would dedicate every moment of their life to their arrogance and to only ever be strong through them because that isn't loving its plain greedy and pointlessly dumb. No loving parent would ask for that or even anything slightly close to that extent yet god enforces these intentions. But these things are ignored by most christians and they continue thinking that god's intentions for humankind which are simply living for god and god only are a good thing. Well no its completely self centered and moronic of god and thats what puts me off christianity the most because the whole point to it is about the weakness of the human race and the superority of god and our progression should only ever occur through god and our progression doesn't even really matter in the end as long as the entirety of everything is about god than the meaning of life is fulfilled. God's intentions are egotistical, pointless, dumb, arrogant, greedy, materialistic and completely self-centered.
Any thoughts?
sorry to offend anyone by the way i don't mean to these are just my concerns.

You have some very serious flaws in your understanding of christianity.
For one, christianity isn't ALL about God. It is about us. According to christianity, God wouldn't have created us or this world if we didn't have something to do with the universe. The morals and christian doctorines also aren't for God, they're for humans so they can reach God. You see?
I suggest you do a bit more reading, or talk to a priest/religion teacher, then refine your thoughts.

So god has intently created us to reach him meaning its all about him in the end anyway which isn't a good thing which was my point. Also god demands worship which is also not a good thing it just shows more of god's vanity and love ffor himself.

He didn't create us just so we could reach him, because if he did that then there would be no hell. According to christianity, we were created by God so that he could share his gifts with others. I don't see what is possibly selfish about that.
Also, God does not demand that we worship him. You can go to heaven without going to church. It just says that we must keep the Sabbath holy, never saying that we must go to church. Do most people worship God? Of course, but it's hardly a necessity.

My first thought is that you should convert huge lumps of text into paragraphs if you want anybody to read your ideas.

All of the Christians I've met have claimed that God made us to "give Him glory", and apparently the Bible supports this interpretation.

Example?
Many give him glory, but I would like to know where it says we were created just to give him glory.
