what do u belive in? like after u die...like christian, jew, reincartation, waever...i thing that you just dont exist. We are just our brains thinking, and wen we die, blood and oxygen stop going to our brain resulting in brain death, so we just dont exist.

Personally, I am Christian. I have to poke fun at myself because I see so much evidence of God doing things for me yet I have so little faith in Him.

This thread wouldn't last three seconds in there; same with MGCBTSOOYG.

There are a lot misplaced threads tonight. I think you're correct, though.

Yeah but Armageddon has a point, Humanities probably would blast this thread to bits.

I used to truly believe eternal darkness with perfect mental clarity was the afterlife, which lead me into a 3-month long depression.

Religion is bullshit. It was made to keep the masses in line.
The five minutes when we are still conscious after we are 'dead' is a dream state, which, with extreme time distortion, leads to a new, eternal life, capable of all physical sensations, for the brain is a powerful thing.

I belief in spelling but not grammar.
I beleive in the energy behind the universe and the unity of it all, and thus the fact that our conciousness is part of that oneness.. but I don't really subscribe to religious teachings, they are taken far too literally.

I believe that when we die were dead and thats that. Its hard to accept that but its the depressing truth. Religion was only created so people could live happier lives.

Do what you want to while you live because when you die you just go to sleep and never wake up. I love to sleep http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)

I'd say there's a difference from sleep and lack of consciousness and thus existence.

I believe in everything, and nothing.
Belief is altered way too often to simply state that you believe in something. The events which occur in our lives lead to belief in many different things, and they cycle quite frequently.
A priest can lose his faith instantly and become an atheist, whereas an atheist can suddenly become a priest.
It varies really.
If you are reffering to the present, and only the present, then I would have to say I have regained my faith in God, but I do not wish to go to the extremeties and become a fanatic. I'm Jewish BTW (let the usual flaming begin).

Funny, I think most devastation occurs within our sleep, and we can't do anything to change it. So I see sleep as a temporary paralysis, therefore I try to minimize my sleeping as much as I can. There is just too much to do.

Do you feel like you're in that 'dream state' right now? Typing (touch), reading (sight), etc. are all physical senses. It's the combination of them (combining them to know that you are "posting on a forum called totse" and so forth) that leads to a sense of existance and awareness of one's situation. How would (or wouldn't) this aspect be accounted for in the post-mortem 'dream state'?

I believe in death means...death. You don't think, you don't feel, you aren't existing. You are nothing, skin and bones until your skin rots away and all you are is a few white sticks in a box under the ground. There isnt conciousness, there isn't...anything. Nothing. At all.
I never grew up with any kind of religion or faith, it never sunk in or made much sense to me.
Meh, if I'm wrong-then I'll be damned. Literally.

I'm agnostic.
That is, I think that there just might be something out there, but I'm just not sure what...
BTW, I'm moving this to the proper forum [My God can beat your god...].
