didn't jesus say that you should be no part of this world? if that includes politics + governments, doesn't that just disprove christianity because of things like the WW1 + 2, crusades, and people like constanopole(sp)?

care to explain what "you should be no part of this world" means? because that doesn't really sound as if it fits with those examples you were giving. Jesus is saying you shouldn't live on earth? You shouldn't live at all??

Here's a rule of thumb to keep in mind when discerning things like this...

Anybody who uses God to promote and forward humanistic ambitions is wrong. It doesn't happen that way. God uses us to forward His will and advance His kingdom. We should not use God to forward our will and advance our kingdoms/governments. It is by God's will we exists and it is not by our will God exists.

I hope that helps.

And Jesus answering said unto them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they marveled at him.

Mark 12:17

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than men."

Acts 5:29

"Religion is the politics of spirituality, and once you get politics mixed up in spirituality, it loses all meaning."
