So, in my philosophy class we've been talking about Nietzsche. Anyway, today the professor had these two satanists come to give a talk about satanism since satanism is an example of people rejecting traditional religious beliefs and living in self-focused way.

After hearing the two satanists talk for 50minutes it became rather clear that this is such a stupid religion. They claim that christians and practitioners of other mainstream religions are like sheep who just group together to find reassurance in false beliefs. However, the satanist's response to this is to go out and buy copies of books written by some guy, LaVey, who basically took ideas of various philosophers and formed some sort of religious belief out of it. The philosophical side of the satanists isn't too bad but the religious side is retarded. The church doesn't seem to actually believe in any supernatural powers and openly admits itself as largely being a business. Despite that it is openly and completely lacking as a religion, these people still believe it. They have their rituals with candles and they wear their pentacles and all that other nonsense because they take it seriously as a religion. Wtf? Why can't these people actually live by their beliefs and accept life without religion instead of responding to the falseness of most religions by mailing their membership fee to the church in return for a membership card?

Get a cross and some holy water, and a copy of the exorcism rites (print them and put them into a big book with a badass cross on the cover). Sprinkle them with the cross while uttering latin mumbo-jumbo. Hit them. Soon they will be healed of their evil ways and rejoin the chosen.

Or maybe it'll piss them off. Nobody likes getting exorcised. Especially when I do it (I tend to get very worked up and vigorous with my exorcisms.) Anyway, either way is cool.

your right satanism is a stupid "religion" but i find the philisofical side fairly interesting and do infact consider myself "satanic". No i have not sent a membership card to Mr. Le Vey because he was a money hungry person playing of the emotions of disgruntled ex-christians (which in fact is just the sort of thing that satanism would condone. We largly beleive in getting yourself ahead no matter who you hurt in the process. As far as the practical side goes its basicaly revised wiccanism

in order to perform a "Real"

exocism you have to first get a license, be above a certain rank in the catholic church and get the arch bishop, or at least the catholic church's permision for EACH exorcism.

based on these requirements and simply the the way you speak of such matters implies a lack of knoledge on the subject that,in all honosty,scares me (if you actualy are performing would be exorcism,which i doubt, they are likely pschologicaly dangerous to the person being exorcised).

lavey's satanic church doesn't believe in a physical satan. they merely worship the ideal. i don't see how the absence of belief in a higher power makes the rituals any less important. the rituals serve the same purpose as the rituals of the catholic church. there are many satanists who are not a member of the official church of satan as well...
