Because as non christians they're attached to physical wealth and worldly possetions. They'll look for any opertunity to express their greed.

Because there is nothing in the bible about a guy named Santa Clause dressed in Coca-Cola colors living at the north pole with elves and giving out presents on a sleigh with flying reindeer.

The majority of christmas is either stolen traditions from other cultures or a modern creation

The modern secular world has absorbed the rituals of ancient times while retaining none of the practice's original spiritual meanings. So, we keep hold of the impotent and now-meaningless traditions for the sake of worldly gains.

Hmm... the same could be said of Christianity.

Why do Christians celebrate christmas? Your supposedly celebrating the birth of christ, but he was born in march. Christmas was stolen from eqyptian sun god worshippers. Christmas is simply winter solstice. It marks the point at which the days start to become longer, or the rebirth of the sun. Since all of the worlds wealth is a representation of the suns stored energy in carbon bonds, it makes sense to worship the thing that allows for your existence. Religion is still the same crap as before, just less rules each time to attract a following.

Your question should be more along the lines of "Why do Christians celebrate Xmas?"
