View Full Version : The consequence of my sin

Certain sins lead to certain types of consequences do they not?
I seem to have an unnatural fear of people. I always used to be shy. When my mother died when I was 11, that left me feeling even more insecure. Before that I had a, what I thought was, a racist 3rd grade teacher that embarassed and yelled at me everyday in class. I began to feel confident, but then I think my isolation of people began when a teacher falsly accused me in class and embarassed me in 8th grade.
My aunt took me aside one day in 6th grade and told me how self abuse (masterbating) would make me very cowardly, its homosexual, and I shouldn't do it. I always remembered that, and I think it was God's will for her to specifically have me remember that moment with her. I rebelled, and repeatedly did this, however I was always shy before my rebellion in the first place.
Is this the sin in my life that leads to my shyness? I was known my friends to be very extroverted, and very introverted as well.
Is this the sin that has put me in my current isolated state?
(I hope to hear a response from Sig_intel since he's helped my in many of responses a lot)

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." Psalm 91:16-16 NIV
Is your dilema about Isolation? being shy? masturbation? or someone being mean to you when you were younger?
It is not clear what you are asking.

He seems unwilling to take the blame for his own inadequacies.
lmmfao! you think that because you jack-off, you are introverted? if anything, it's the other way around. there is no big father figure on a cloud handing out chastisments and rewards. even christianity thinks that the consequences of your life of sin is borne out after you die, not on earth.
syphilis is right, you need to accept responsibility for you own state, and if you desire to change, then change! it is within your power, not a non-existent super-parents.
it's not god's will, it's your will.
did your aunt molest you?
by the way, there is nothing wrong with being introverted. introverts have higher iqs!

I wanted to know if certain sins lead to certain consequences, and if so, which ones correspond with which etc.
God can punish those in this lifetime if he wishes. I think usually christians are punished during their life, like it said in revelation, some may be kept on earth before rapture to be made spotless during the tribulation.
My aunt taught me that masterbation leads to cowardlyness. But i was debating whether or not that may be due to past experiences.

No. Your shyness is a result of fear. Fear can be simple, and extreme. In a Christian's life the fear we have is the fear of falling away from God, and him taking his hand off of us when we go out of his will, leaving the windows open for death to come in.
A few things I've noticed this past week..
The Devil is the accuser of the brethern, so he condemns us. Condemnation leads to depression/opression, and depression/opression leads to suicide. If you're a born again believer the Devil wants you dead, and he will influence you to open windows, but it's ultimately up to you to open that window and give the Devil authority over that area of your life.
I broke free of condemnation. I would sin, and feel condemned. 1 John 1:9 says, if you're faithful and Just to confess your sin, his is faithful and Just (true to his word) to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Romans 8: The whole chapter is amazing, but the 1st verse says, Therefore now There is NO condemnation to them that be in Christ. The Devil is a liar.
Fear was a window I left open, and Just today determined to close. I wasn't afraid of dying, I was afraid of opening a window, I didn't know I had opened, and dying without running my race. I don't want to die until I've finished doing what God wants me to do.
Well, Last night, I again fell short. I mourned the spirit, and I felt saddeness consume me. My spirit was crying. I knew I had done something God convicted me of before. I started getting into deep thought. I realized that if I didn't humble myself and PRAY TURN FROM my wicked ways, My fear and sin combined is a direct pathway to death that the devil would love to take advantage of.
Words stick with me. First of all if you're born again, you're on the Devil's hit list. He wants you DEAD, and you have to open up that window, so he's going to try his best to get you to open it up. Secondly, if you're in a church that preaches the truth, then you're constantly learning who and what you are in Christ. Which is a good thing, but VERY dangerous as well.
I look at others who are status quo, and fine with it. They don't want to know more about God, they just trust God for their salvation, and that's all good, but still, status quo. Then I look at what I know now, that I didn't know then, and I realize, I'm respobsible for what I know. Sin isn't sin until you know it's sin. Jesus said that.
"Had I not came and spoke the words I've spoken to them, and Showed the signs I've shown, they would be without sin, but NOW they have NO CLOAK for their sin."
Thus, once you know something is sin, you're responsible. When you're born again, you have a responsibility to read God's word, as a believer. When God reveals things to you, you have a responsibility to OBEY him.
Well, my friend, the Devil has attacked you, and Now he's getting you to open up windows so he can take you out of this world. If you're not discerning, he will succeed. We fight the Adversary, not by OUR might, but by God's might. Greater is he that is IN ME. I don't have victory, but by Christ. When the Enemy tells me, "You're worthless, you've just sinned, and you're not good enough for God's love." I say, "It IS written, There is no condemnation to them that be in Christ."
We fight the Devil with GOD'S WORD. God's TRUTH. By saying, "It is written" Is like saying, "THIS IS THE TRUTH AND IT CAN'T BE DISPUTED"
When you're weak, say It is written that you are strong in Christ Jesus who strengthens you.
When you're afraid, say God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE, and A SOUND MIND.
You can sit back, and let the devil Place thoughts in your head, and meditate on those thoughts, or you can, pick up the SWORD OF THE LORD, and use it. God will Fight your battles, if you step out of the ring, and let HIM fight them.

Certain sins lead to certain types of consequences do they not?
Naturally, they do.
I seem to have an unnatural fear of people.
I had this tendancy too at a young age. it's a Napolean complex.
My aunt took me aside one day in 6th grade and told me how self abuse (masterbating) would make me very cowardly, its homosexual, and I shouldn't do it. I always remembered that, and I think it was God's will for her to specifically have me remember that moment with her. I think your aunt is a bit extreme. Masturbation, in and of itself, could or could not be a sin. The only reference in the Bible that might possibly be construed as this, is the sin of Onan, in Genesis 38. You have to understand that looking at this in such a broad sense is legalistic. The NT teaches that it's not always the letter of the law, but rather, the spirit of the law, that God has always tried to maintain. Moses wrote the Law in black and white, because it needed to be for a solid foundation. However, when you read the Psalms, he reveals the heart of the Lord and His ultimate purpose, which is to follow the Law because of your love for God, not attrition. I am still very much undecided on this area. I know, full well, the destruction it CAN cause... This isn't to say that I also couldn't understand how performing it might abate any possibility of leading yourself into sexual immorality. But Jesus very clearly gave us portrayal of what constitutes adultery. (I think it's safe to say that it might be the same for fornication as well.) Jesus said that adultery, murder, etc, etc, takes place in the heart. It's when you HARBOR these thoughts that it becomes a sin. Remember, temptation is not a sin... It's giving in to, and entertaining these thoughts, in willful deliberation. If you feel compelled to not masturbate, I say there is nothing wrong with it, so long as it doesn't become a stumbling stone for you. (meaning, if it becomes a burden that you were never meant to carry.) Conversely, if you do decide that masturbation has benefits and feel you can channel it productively, you must also be wary of addiction, which will take you away from your walk with God very quickly. But, this has nothing to do with you being shy. People are different and have different dispositions. You are either reclusive and introverted by nature, or there is an insecurity that could be unbeknownst to you. Hope that helps. (Some of this came from my own mind and not the Lord. Don't take what I said for face value. Seek the Lord in prayer concerning this.)

Good lord, woman... That was amazing! This kind of understanding can only come from the Spirit, not just learning the Scriptures through vain repitition.
And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the house of Israel." 2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.
3 Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. -Ezekiel 3:1-3
We have a tendancy, like the prophet, to place the Wrod in our mouth without swallowing it. This is indicative of a certain head-knowledge of the Scripture. But the Lord says, "Son of man (human being), eat the scroll!!!" Anyway Shellz, I think you;ve been eating your scrolls lately. Good job. God bless.

What people need to realize is that not only is masturbation an okay thing, it is a good thing, it is normal to do it and chances are if you didnt do it when you were younger you arnt normal.
I know a guy that claims to have never masturbated and he is one of the most sexually perverse people I know. In 20 years I see him having his office raided by FBI agents looking for kiddie porn.

Your friend is clearly a liar. Even the most secular psychologists will tell that ALL serial killers and serial rapists got their start thru pornography. I doubt highly, that he never partook of masturbation during his sessions.

Not quite, many serial killers/rapists/etc, were abused as children, most often sexually. This is the commonly accepted fact. Then there's the ones that were just born messed up.
And to the OP, masturbation is not the root of your problems, you shouldn't blame introvertedness (is that a word) on something that EVERYONE does, you need to look within yourself for the answer to that one.

"Ted Bundy wanted to tell the world about pornography
What was it that Ted Bundy was so anxious to say? He felt he owed it to society to warn of the dangers of hard-core pornography and to explain how it had led him to murder so many innocent women and girls. With tears in his eyes, he described the monster that took possession of him when he had been drinking. His craze to kill was always inflamed by violent pornography. Quoted below is an edited transcript of the conversation that occurred just seventeen hours before Ted was led to the electric chair."[/b]
Nobody is born a rapist or a murderer. But yes, sexual abuse is a common problem among them. All the more reason to believe that sexual immorality, is, well, immoral.

All sins lead to spiritual darkness. There are physical/carnal consequences for sin and the mind is still part of the physical. (I see a seperation of mind, body and spirit and sin effects each in it's own way) I could only imagine it is a issue of self-worth and self-image. Sin to those who are conscience to it, will darken and cloud the mind.
However, in the spirit man, a life of unrepentent sin leads to a life of isolation and seperation from God. In this state you are handed over to the likes of those who posted previous to this who have done nothing to help you but only ridicule. Lovelessness is Godlessness. Be embraced by the world or by God. You have the choice.

It is a blessing to be corrected or rebuked by God. If you are corrected then remember you are a son of God, therefore, respect your Father in heaven and live according to His decree. That is so you will regain the peace of mind knowing you are in His grace once again.

My only advice is to go to your aunt and ask her to explain what she means. If she is open enough to tell you what she told you then she will be open enough to expound on it. It would be better for her to tell you anyway since she is the one who created this dilema in you. She holds the pieces to that puzzle.

The study you are referring to is fallacious.
quote:Many of those who have campaigned against pornography...were fond of quoting from a report allegedly produced by the Michigan State Police Force's Sexual Crime Unit in the 1980s. The report was said to have stated that there was link found between the use of pornography and the commission of sex crimes.
In 1992 the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) asked for a copy of this report. Detective-Sergeant David Minsk wrote back saying that no such report existed. The criminal profiler for the Michigan State Police, Minsk confirmed that his department maintained the largest computerised sex-motivated crime file in the world. It was initiated in 1955 and continues to the present, with almost 75000 cases on file. As a result of requests from around the world concerning the report alleging a link between pornography and crime, Minsk attempted to 'replicate' such a study using the information that he had on computer. 'There are insufficient data,' he wrote, 'to indicate anything other than a weak correlation between pornography and sexual assault, and even less information to suggest that pornography was used prior to or during sexual assault.'

What sin are you talking about?
First of all, you need to get over these fears about sin and masturbation. Your aunt is dumb. You feel like masturbating, do it. Just remember to quit it at some point :P
Being shy is ok. Some find it even charming. Just don't let people walk all over you because of it. Stand up to those who wrongly accuse you, even if they are teachers. If you are right, there's noone with bigger authority than you. If you are wrong, admit it to yourself, admit it to others, say you're sorry and be done with it. There's noone isolating you but yourself.
Do not attribute everything that happens to you to God's will...whatever happened to your free will? And next time you hear your aunt utter such poisoned nonsense, slap her silly.

Fear, Shame, Guilt....
These are the causes of your uncertainty, introvertedness, and social anxiety. Masturbation does not lead to cowardliness. I masturbate and am not a coward. It is the doctrine of shame in your body, your nature, your actions, and your pleasure that make it negatively impact your life. Because you were told it was bad by someone you trusted, you feel shame for the act, and it contributes to your introversion and anxiety...you feel like someone knows or will discover your shameful secret and mock you or think poorly of you for it...you beat yourself up for wanting to do it, and the more you fight against it and vilify it, the more it becomes an aberration that you can't seem to resist...repressing nature leads to abhorrant outbursts of pent up energy.
When man vilifies his very nature, he creates within himself a monster, and empowers it with fear, frustration, anger, and self loathing...eventually that monster will grow strong enough to become a demon that controls you...
The truest sin is the sin of self loathing...it is the root most other aberrant actions.

If a teacher punches you, I believe you can have him fired. And your personal life is not his concern. You can let him know that, being as polite as possible. If he persists commenting, you can always comment on his racism. I'm sure there will be people who will take your side.
