Eh. Cute, but not that funny.

I don't argue with people anymore. I've noticed that spilling their teeth is far more satisfactory. It's also more intelligent than debating, because only idiots debate idiots.

Unless of course you're provoking the dumbshit in question, to justify the spilling of their teeth to possible bystanders. But then again, bystanders should mind their own business, lest they wish their teeth spilled.

That has to be one of the most retarded things I've ever seen.

It's got some good points.

quote:29) When given a Bible verse that looks bad, tell him that's what the verse says, but that's not what it means.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen this one used. "God didn't really kill all of those children. [long incomprehensible explanation usually bringing the original language into the argument] But the rest of it is literal!"

43) Tell him that he acknowledges Christ every time he uses "A.D." -- which, of course, stands for "After Death."

ACTUALLY A.D. means Anno Domani, which is translated as "In the Year of Our Lord."

(So 6th grade)

well actually now it's C.E. (Current Era) seeing as 2000 or so years is far too long to be "in the year of our lord"

Gal 2:20. It's still A.D. If you want a Christian's opinion.

I still use A.D., despite being an atheist (for all practical purposes, at any rate). BCE/CE sounds a little too much like politically correct coddling for this little black duck.

I learned this a little while ago, and it suprised the hell out of me.

yes all tried and tested(failed) tactics of the brainwashed and pathologically deluded adherants to literal christianity.

how about, "if god told you to jump off a bridge, would you?"

"if god told you to jump off a bridge, would you?"

Yes........ But only if God said.

so, let me ask you one thing,

you know when you pray?

and you have a dialogue with god?

can you write down one of these "dialogues"?

has god ever said anything to you that you didn't already know?

"Drink the last beer in the fridge."

WTF? How would this piss off an aethiest? What if he doesn't even drink beer?

It's just dumb. None of that stuff would even piss me off, and I am an aethiest.

Why would someone asking me to pray with them irritate me? It wouldn't. I would just laugh, and probably say they are wasting their time.

Why did you feel it necessary to comment on a joke website shelly?

I laughed. Most of those are pretty stupid, though some are true. Such as this one:

quote:15) Say that seperation of church and state isn't in the Constitution; insist that the Constitution is based on the Ten Commandments.

I'll give anyone a cookie who can show me where in the Constitution it says anything about seperation of church and state. A church shouldn't be allowed to rule as a government, but that doesn't mean it can't be a part of it. It's freedom of not freedom from.

So then should also let devil worshippers and Scientologists be part of the government as well? Should they be allowed to create laws based on their religous beliefs? For example, how do you think people would like it if they made it commonplace for students to chant anti-christ pledges every morning before school starts?

Religion has no place in government, especially when the poloticians minds have altered perceptions of reality, or try to enforce their way of life on the entire nation.

First off, I'm one of those people that get really irritated at people who are wrong but think they're right and insist on telling everyone there wrong statements, A.D. stands for Anno domini not after death

Also this article is mocking christians methods of arguing I agree that it would be irritating but it is not proving anything.

Religion shouldn't force it's way on anyone, that's not what i was saying. But things in government should also not be completely dissosiated with religion. There are many places within the state capitol and white house and other government buildings that have religions symbols and things such as the Ten Commandments. And there is even a stained glass window of George Washington praying in the capitol chapel.

Of course a religion shouldn't be able to rule, that's why the US was formed in the first place. But the founding fathers also didn't intend it to be completely seperated either.

1st Amendment -- "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

Article VI Section III -- "but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

I personally don't find anything wrong with using religious symbolism, or putting up the ten commandments or whatever. As long as religion stays out of the laws then I'm happy.

So do you believe homosexual marriages should be banned in the constitution?

I'll give you a quick reason why I think it shouldn't. There are really two sides to marriage -- civil unions and religious affiliated marriage. Civil unions are contracts based on law. Religious marriages are ordained by, well, religion. Restricting "marriage" (inclusive of both aspects) to a man and a woman would not only be a religious law on government stuff (civil unions) but it would also be infringing on the rights of any religions that accept homosexual marriage. That includes some Christian churches.

Edit: I should have said "civil marriage" instead of civil union up above. Civil unions appear to be something outside of the institution of marriage.

I found it quite amusing, especially since just before i read it a couple of jehova's wittnesses came to my door and used;

7) Tell them that the universe is too complex to "just exist," and must have been created by a God who "just exists."

Jehova's wittnesses are the lowest form or human life.
