better than you

Okay, so I go to a Catholic school in Illinois. St. Viator High School to be exact. Every year, there is a retreat that takes place 3 times a year. This retreat is called Kairos. It is a Catholic retreat that goes on for 3 nights, 4 days at a retreat center away from the school. Attendees are not allowed to bring any technological items (cameras, phones, music) and are not allowed any contact with the outside world for these 4 days. Also, you are not allowed to keep timepieces such as watches to check the time. You are on "the Lord's time". Apparently, (I have not gone on it) sleep is scarce, and they let you sleep maybe 3 hours per day. Now this is where it gets really weird.
I know quite a few people who have attended this retreat and I am close friends with them. Before they went, I would tease them about the cultish behavior of Kairos and they simply brushed it off and joked along with me. However, when people come home from Kairos, they are truly not the same. They come back on a sort of "kairos high". They are not allowed to tell anyone what goes on during Kairos no matter what. Zero, nada, nothing. They will not even tell you who was in their group.
Tonight, along with a few of my other friends, I hung out with a girl who just got back from Kairos. We watched a movie and she was fine. After the movie, we asked her what went on and all. Obviously, she wouldn't say anything about it, but said it was the best experience of her life and highly recommends we go on it. Later on, we teased her a little more about the kairos "cult" and how she had be "kairos-ed". Upon this, she said very solemnly, "I think I should go now". And ran out of the house crying. She cryed all the way to another person's house at 11:00pm, who also went to kairos. Now this girl has never gotten emotional or upset about anything like this and has always been fun to be with. What did they do to her??
Does anyone honestly know what happens there and why everyone comes back praising Kairos as if it was Jesus himself?? I refuse to go on this weird ass retreat, especially since it costs $300. The only way I might go, is if I sneak in a videocamera, and be a very belligerant person while on it, but I dont feel like throwing $300 away. So, anyway, does anyone have more information or experiences about people who go on Kairos???
