View Full Version : Has God spoken to you?
So we all have heard someone claim that God spoke to them.
Have you? Did you really hear him? Or was it just something you interpreted to think was him trying to say something to you?
And if you did, what did he say? And how did you get him to talk to you?

First of all, it should be said that God speaks to everyone--most folks simply do not pay attention.
Ways that God can speak include the following: unusual behavior of clouds or animals; songs you hear, when the words just sort of jump out at you; found objects; dreams; angels of various sorts.

I half agree with AM. This could just be your subconscious mind picking up on relevant things.

I was once asked a specific question about my desire to become a merchant seaman. "No" spoke to my mind and supplanted my own response. I believed I was being told what not to do and in spite of my efforts I never fulfilled that objective. There's much more but you don't have the time. Or I don't.
The reason I ask is, where I live there are lot of zealous christians where I live who stand outside in the streets with megaphones and pamphlets, trying to tell everyone to accept Jesus as their savior or they are going to hell.
Some claim God has spoken to them. Everytime I hear that, I think they are just crazy. And that its only a handful of these christians that are nuts.
I am just glad I didn't get responses of lots of people who truly believe that God talks to them. Those people must be crazy then.

God came out of the clouds and said:
"Ark, make me a sandwitch."
I told God to make his own fucking sandwitch.
I've also met people who claim God has talked to them and they're dead serious about it too. But i used to at times think God was talking to me but now being more open minded i realise those moments weren't significant at all and it simply felt like God because of what christianity had taught me. Stranges coincidences do happen but i think its naive to look at God as the answer especially when the intervention of a God is completely inconspicuous and therefore tanglibly baseless.
My opinion is that its simply wishful thinking and if they really thought about it open-mindedly they'd realise too that its simply wishful thinking. You'll find in a church that every piece of "phenomenal" evidence of christianity such as god speaking to us that when you think about it logically for a second its really not that phenomenal it all.

Thats true insofar as how these events take place to each respective individual, but at some point you must recognize that coincidence on a cosmic scale cannot account for events after a certain point.
