Yeah, I am. It's funny how people think quaker, then think oats.

It's a great religion. Unlike practically every religion who claims they're peaceful, as far as I know, Quakers have never killed anyone as a religious group.

My meeting is made of old hippies mostly. We don't pray. If you want, you sit and think quietly with everyone. We're anti war and basically most of them are uber liberal. It's nice.

I'm a fan of the Quaker style. I've been to a few Quaker "masses". It's a cool system.

Cheers,

I go to a Quaker school. Although, I'm not a Quaker myself. Being a Quaker school our community is pretty open and mostly everyone's liberal. We have meeting for worship, "meeting", every thursday for 40 minutes. The entire high school gathers in this one room that is lined with benches and we sit there in silence. During this time you're supposed to "reflect". Occasionally a student or teacher will rise to speak about something important they learned or some current issue that is going on in the world that is bothering them.

Anyways, I think it's an interesting religion because it's so different from other religions. Definitely worth reading up on if you're interested.

For some reason I thought Qaukers were conservative in general.

No, you're not! There are only 8 left in the world and they aren't allowed access to the internet or to reproduce!

You're not too stupid in thinking this. Actually, during the colonial period, they were extremely conservative, only wearing black and white, "not to mock god".

Sometime, I don't know when, it flipped around, now being composed of aging hippies and anti war pussies like myself.

I realize I'm probably not too original in saying my religion is a cool one, but it is. Just go to a meeting around you sometime.

I didn't mean in that way I meant governmently conservative. As in favoring less government involvement in their lives.

I have more respect for the Quakers than most any other religion, although they still have the whole "divine light" bullshit which sets them back.
