View Full Version : Am I destined to be a Catholic holy man?

Ok, I'm quite concerned about the recent uncoverings that I have found...
I am 15 years old and I am a virgin. I have had plenty of opportunities to engage in sexual activity, but somehow, the man on my shoulder (conscience) convinces me not to.
Also, just reading an article, I have discovered that my eating habits are also stressed by the Catholic Church....I have had no prior knowledge of such abstinence. This abstinence being only eating one meal a day and two smaller meals.....
"...Fasting The law of fasting requires a Catholic from the 18th Birthday [Canon 97] to the 59th Birthday [i.e. the beginning of the 60th year, a year which will be completed on the 60th birthday] to reduce the amount of food eaten from normal. The Church defines this as one meal a day, and two smaller meals which if added together would not exceed the main meal in quantity....."
This is kinda freaking me out....Sort of.

Well you already "believe in god"... So whatever, become a brick in the wall and go and become a priest. Just remember, after this, there is only the void of nothingness.

Maybe you suffer from acute anxiety... It could explain why you’re not been intimate with the opposite sex and suffer from a low appetite...
The quote “I have had plenty of opportunities to engage in sexual activity” suggests you have the beginnings of grandeur which is also consistent with your beliefs a very real God exists and may be covertly guiding you without your knowledge or active effort… Not enough symptoms just yet to make me think you’re more than an enquiring 15 year old under mild stress…
You lack a reason for this divine intervention… So I can’t diagnose your delusions just yet, but smoke some crack or another hallucinogen, and return to this thread so we can work out how to medicate it…
On the other hand, maybe its not your psychology at all, you could very well be on this Earth to do more than just preliminary algebra and physical education…

I was a catholic for 20 years.
Believe me when I tell you that if there is a god, he's not worth praying to.

When I was 15 I went through a similiar thing. Jadedfool (if you remember him he used to mod this forum long long ago) and I found some strange judaic correlations surrounding my birth. We did a bunch of research on it and everything we found pointed to that I would be the one who announces the coming of the messiah. Like, I'm supposed to be the one who recognizes the messiah or something before anyone else.
But, yea, the path of riteousness ended at 16, and really - in many ways - it had ended long before that. So, uh... I don't think so.
Cheers,

I mean, do you feed starving children or shelter the homeless as well?... What are your thoughts on this?
Unless your northern European, been 15 and a virgin isn't so hard to believe...
The question isn't “Why is God guiding you?”... The question is “Why do you feel God is guiding you at all?”... Why have you metaphysically connected two very real events and concluded a possibility that it is a few steps along a path that eventually leads to you morally contributing to society, from a distinguished position within a established church...
Buy a homeless guy a hot meal, and deal with reality using real situations...

God is trying to guide everybody. Perhaps you are one of rare people that still have a conscience and are open to His guidance. sometimes we realize our circumstances are a blessing.
are you catholic? if so, you are a in a unique position, not being one of the many complacents, to benefit catholicism. If you think God is trying to reach you, let Him. Pray, keep reading..

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard for you to pronounce.

Believe in reincarnation? Maybe you were a monk or priest in a past life, and the instincts have stayed with you.

Neat. I do believe in reincarnation.....Hadn't occured to me though. I do find it quite strange however that the excerpt i posted states that catholics are encouraged to only eat one meal a day from the age of 14 until death...I started this habit at 14.....spookay.
where did you get that about eating one big meal a day? canon 97 of what

You haven't mentioned a liking for little boys in frocks, or wearing one yourself for that matter.
So no, you don't have the makings of a Catholic holy man.

from the 18th Birthday
.
I don't believe in god, and if you do, you'll get sucked into a void which will consume your whole life (especially if you're looking to fulfill some role in the church) Seriously, if there isn't a god, you're pretty screwed if you'd start following catholic doctrines heavily from your 15th year of age, what a waste. If there is a god, he should really try to stick his neck out (ex. curing aids etc.)
Well, ask yourself: do you like little boys?

Oh, fiddlesticks!
I remember there was this book at the bookstore, I think it was called Being Good. It had all sorts of quotes from the Bible of cruel and unusual punishments God supposedly said were to be used on different types of criminals.
Basically, the idea of the book was, if you want to take the Bible completely literally, you're a lunatic.
I'll go see if I can find that book.
