View Full Version : omnipotence dead.
Assuming god is supreme and omnipotent, could he not make something better. If he could he would find himself contradicting himself because he wouldnt be the most powerful. if he couldnt he's not omnipotent. please explain if i missed something.

Its gods decision to do anything for our benefit (If there is a supreme being) Maybe god is some sick lunatic that likes to see people suffer, or were just another set of beings in all of existance and he/she wouldnt care less of what we do.

Anything powerful in and of itself cannot congregate to form something greater than itself.
Case and point: All numbers are part of infinity. The summation of all numbers cannot be greater than infinity.

Faulty logic. That doesn't prove anything at all.
If god is omnipotent, then he must, by definition of omnipotence, have the power to improve the perfect, and to better the infinitely best - however illogical those propositions might seem. Thus god can, "congregate to form something greater than itself".

Rust, you stated God can form something greater than himself. But what would be the basis of comparison for the greatness he would be striving to achieve?

Or is it something we simply cannot comprehend because we have never experienced anything close to what we speculate the omnipotence of God really is?

The moment God created somthing better than himself he would lose omnipotence. However if God chooses not to make a greater being than himself then even if it is within his ability he does not lose omnipotence

i know but it shows that there can be a better being, something which the bible states(maybe not in direct context) is impossible.
