Within Europe and the world, Islam is an issue currently in the spotlight of political discussion. Recently, as I was driving home, a talk radio show host read a quote from some individual, and it went something like, "All the descendants of Muhammed were women." Can anyone clarify what this meant, or point to a resource that would explain it? I am very curious to learn about its meaning...

I think it's trying to say Muhammad had only daugters, no sons. Wiki gave me this:

Muhammad was survived by his daughter Fatima and her children. (Some say that he had a daughter Zainab, who had borne a daughter, Amma or Umama, who survived him as well.)

Also, why is it that when most people talk of Muhammad, or any of the other prophets they say "Peace be upon him/them". Anyone know?

Edit: He is the last prophet and is Very much respected. Peace be upon him, he is dead.

they say peace be upon him because he is dead and awaiting judgement like all of us.
