Happened to me the other day. Here is my views on religion as a whole. I use the word God a fair bit in this. I do not mean the christian god. Its just that they penned God, as their God. I just mean whichever the higher diety is. Anyway, flame if you want.



well alot of my time is spent thinking about religion. Now ima just say it, i am intelligent. On a higher level and i know that makes me sound cocky but its the only way you will get this. Any way a question i ask is a question everyone asks. If god is real why do bad things happen? Why are we here? Well god has an ultimate plan. But i also think he is somewhat human. In that, everyone thinks god is such an ass because bad things happen. God has put people on this earth who are only smart enough to see there is a plan. But not see the plan. The smartest people in the world, and me, have been given the intelligence to see that God has this ultimate plan, but not the intellect to see WHAT the plan is. Bad things happen because that is ultimatly part of gods plan. The smartest person on earth will only ever see god as a cock sucking ass hole untill they die. Then they will se the greater picture. Thus, bad things happen, because we do not know why. God is a cynical person, and God has a plan, and God may be punishing us for what people millions of years ago did, but its all part of a plan. And we have to come along for the ride, we have no choice. Despite the delusions your pastor down the road gives you, he contradicts himself. Right there. God has an ultimate plan, but we have free will. That right there is the flaw because you cant have a pattern, you cant have a plan, when there is litterally TRILLIONS+ of variables. God is in control. We have the delusion of free will but its not quite there. I accept this though. how can there be an ultimate plan if at any given time, there is billions of variables. No, i am not saying god is a bad person. God is a fantastic person, but he is still a smart fantastic person. he is like the buisness man. He doesnt see individuals. HE sees the whole picture. The way from point a to point b. Not the bricks on the road. christianity is wrong. Flat but i like parts of christianity. Its just that they have gone the wrong way with it te last couple of millenia.

Yeah, it all good and well, but its kind of tempered by the fact that you spell epiphany as some sort of epilepsy...

And why would the first elemental being, the ultimate creator of the universe, be a creature with emotional problems? Emotions develop as a result of need for complex interaction with other beings. So it would never have wanted or needed companions in fluffy cloud land. Which is why I think the god you're talking about is a figment of the human imagination.

If you were so smart there would be no reason for you to tell us just how intelligent you are.... It would either be evident or non-existent, in which case, I prefer the latter.

yeah tons of people say that when i tell them. But like, screw you. theres a story as to why i say that but to be honest i dont feel like going into it.

Well the problem is, like other theological ideas, is that there's no way to tell if you're right or not.

Yes, that could be the reason why bad things happen.

But, it could also be because god just doesnt care and lets anything happen.

Or, it could be because there is no god at all and no one watching over us.

Or, maybe god lets bad things happen because he wants to test people.

Any one of those answers and many others could be viable and there's no way to tell which is true unless you talk to god personally.

This is an idea you came up with yourself. How do you know god has any kind of plan? You dont. How do you know he even exhibits any type of human characteristics? You dont.

Translation: There's this God, who is kind of like an upgraded you, me, or Hitler. This God has a plan. This plan is unknown to everyone. No one can possibly know what this plan is, we'll only know it when we die, maybe... maybe a little bit after we die, maybe never, who knows.
