In honor of Bisdale's thread (which was poorly worded).

Assuming that God exists and that God knowingly created us, what was God thinking when he created humanity? All he gets from us is grief on a whole. The majority of people either hate him passionatly or even worse, ignore him. If he is a being a supreme, infinte intelligence, how could he be intereseted or pleased by the chemical reaction that is the human physce?

Are we just for natural resources?

We were made in his image, but then that bitch ate the fruit.

if we were made in his image then why did they betray him and eat the fruit?

because god loves fruit, thats why he told them not to eat his apples.

If God likes apples, and wanted no one to eat the apples, why did he create people who would eat his apples?

He could have made us so we liked the taste of dirt, but he probably wanted that for himself too, the greedy bastard.

Why did he create everything anyways? Was he just bored one day?

God created us all to love and ovey him. That is our sole purpose. If you dont love and obye gods will, you will suffer enternally.

The reason why al grief him is be cause we all know hes a benelovent and kind god. HE will answer our prayers with happiness anmd hope. If we ignor him, you arent not a true christan.

the only way it could make sense is if god is really an über smart emo kid. he sits in his underground lab all day in some pan-dimensional universe, creating life, smiting it, then completely ignoring his creations when they need him most.

the purpose of all this is an experiment to see how long it will take for humans to develop emo music, and to see how badly they will butcher his favorite band, dashboard confessionals.

that still doesn't answer the question of why god created us in the first place.

no one is debating what our purpose in life is, which is, as you said, to love and obey god, but from god's point of view, why would he do it?

Did he want to feel special and loved? Because more important Gods kicked him out of their circle?

Haha, PirateJoe's reply is actually kind of funny.

Now, who is to say that we have a 'purpose' or not? I don't think I have any purpose or 'meaning', nor does anyone else.

As I see it:

EITHER

God Exists

-Deist God (No objective purpose/meaning, our organic cells and atoms are as valuable as inorganic atoms.)

-Interventionist God(We may have objective purpose/meaning)

-Interventionist God obsessed with mankind(We definetly have purpose/meaning)

God Does Not Exist

-No universal Objective values(No objective purpose/meaning)

I personally am unsure of GOD's existence, so I do not presume that I have such an objective value/purpose/meaning.

Secondly, to say that GOD made us out of interest, love, fun, joy, hate, or any other emotion is to commit an awful fallacy: that GOD is animal-like, in that she feels emotions like man/animal,etc.

Actually we were'nt.

The bible clearly states that the body will perish and the soul... you know the rest.

Dont forget the bible was written 1700, aprox, years ago and has been translated many many times, so interpretation has alot to do with it.

Maybe, God, being as you say supreme let natural reaction take place. Like what Einstein was on about in relitivity except on a far greater level...

like the basic idea of a tonne of feathers being the same weigt as a tonne of led.

item x and force c and product y

x is the object/ive

c is god

y is humans

Zinquaff qoute -

Assuming that God exists and that God knowingly created us, what was God thinking when he created humanity?

he was probably thinking on mathematical terms:

what ever x is, is existing outside of time and space

god being god, c is that which moves creation forward

y is the present

God being out side of time and space also would have had y as a basis for the cause for the present existance.

Wa-Hey!

he told me, "if i have to explain, you wouldn't understand."

it's kinda like whenever anyone creates something. the joy of creation.

sometimes there's lots of different reasons.

because i can.

God created humans so that they may love and obey him. When we failed, he let us live out of spite.

this is stupid. we can't succesfully speculate on god's mental state during creation. this type of stuff is ineffable, to try to understand it with a human mind, and to try to give god human emotions, thinking, and reason, is anthropomorphic and leads nowhere.

maybe stupid but, not pointless. kills time while we're waiting until we might know the real answers
