Considering the fact that Christians, and most other religious freaks, have an all knowing God to back up their arguments, let's play a game by asking them the most irrational questions and see in which way the respond. Questions along the lines of "what do people who've been blind since birth dream" and "at what point in pregnancy does the fetus receive a soul".

Christians: If God is so loving, then how come things like Earthquakes, tsunami's, hurricans happen, and cause death and destruction. I realize you have free will, but surely this is God's will to cause this damage?

1. Ask a blind person and they'll tell you what they dream about. I'm not blind, so I couldn't tell you.

2. Conception... But since we are asking "illogical" questions: When does a fetus get to become a human being? I get conflicting accounts. Some say, when the baby passes through the birth canal. But, during a partial birth abortion, the baby does pass through the birth canal. So is it murder or not?

the answer to anything you ask a christian of that matter is "well, it is gods will" I recently got into a huge argument with a christian over yahoo pool, it was amusing, because I was beating her argument into the ground, and she could do nothing about it. ha!

I think that whole "gods will" thing, was just made up by people so they didnt have to take responsablilaty for their own actions.

You are 80 years old. You have been a christian ever since you were born. You dedicated all your life to this God of yours. You have sacrificed A LOT of things in your life - wonderful, joyfull things.

Science (or whatever it might be) COMPLETELY disproves God/religion once and for all. What would your actions be?

God is considered immortal. He is also considered all-powerful. What would happen if he tried to kill himself? On one hand, he cannot die because he is immortal. On the other hand, if he is all-powerful, he should be able to do anything, including kill himself.

Also, assuming solely that he is all-powerful, does he have the power to lose the power?

I'm not sure what you both mean, so I'll just elaborate on what I originally meant.

Hating Christianity might lead you to atheism, but it's an insipid reason to be an atheist, if only because your beliefs are still dependant on Christianity. Based on that kids comment about most religions being based on Christianity, I made the assumption he fell into the category. Anyone who would make that statement, clearly doesn't know that much about the scores of religions in the world, and has only been exposed to Judeo-Christian ones. Blaming every ill in the world on Christianity might seem dandy if you're a 15 year old AnArChiSt, but the more honest path would be to determine as correctly as possible the exact issues wrong with Christianity.

Basically, I'd rather the kid were an atheist through knowledge and understanding of what the worlds various faithful have to offer, and why it's not for him, as opposed to hating his parents for making him get up at 8AM on Sundays.

Plus his statement was simply wrong.

Because Christianity is made up and run by predominately white people. It only makes sense that people want Jesus to look as much like their race as possible.

Jesus is protrayed as white, not due to any racial motivation, or any confusion, but simply to make it easier for us as Westerners to associate with him. In todays society, colour creates massive rifts and the fact that jesus is protrayed as white by the western church does not mean that he was.

Jesus was being portrayed as white long before "Western Society" and its xenophobia.
