So basically i sit on my bed against the wall. Then i relax and try to detach myself from my body. I say to myself even if i want to, i will not move any part of my body. I keep my eyes closed. Over time i lose all fear of anything that might want to hurt me at the moment. Then i imagine i am floating somewhere in the blackness. I didn't explain it too well. I would just appreciate if someone would tell me how they do it.

The trick with meditation is not to consciously think, which is an extremely hard thing to do.

What you're doing sounds ok, but experiment. I find it easier to lay down o there are no contracting muscles. CLose your eyes and breathe in deeply and hold for as long as is comfortable then expel slowly.

Start at your toes and 'push' the energy out of your body. Visualise it and youll feel your muscles relaxing.

let your mind wonder and drift, your heartbeat will gradually slow and your brain waves will reduce.

Its a fantastic feeling, and will get easier with time.

In the meantime, look up on chakra control and exercises to develop them.

I believe there is also something called walking meditation, but I cant say i know much about it..

Boggles the mind, huh?

Im not sure if what i do is meditating or not but either way its very relaxing and i found it usefull for solving problems and shit. Funnily enough, i do it best in skool http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif) but what i do is just put my head down and turn on some music and im just able to zone out completly and my mind just drifts to whatever. Its great for trying to figure shit out tho..

Instant meditation for the person that doesn't have enough time to meditate 8 hours a day for 8 years.

It works more effectively than traditional methods.
