The Great Debate

Atheism vs Christianity: Does God Exist?

Cliffe Knechtle and Dr. Michael Newdow, the atheist who sued to remove "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegience continue this important debate.

Dr. Michael Newdow is the atheist whose suit to remove "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegience was upheld by the 9th District Court of Appeals.

Cliffe Knechtle of New Canaan regularly engages with skeptical students, professors at such universities as Harvard, MIT, Stanford and the University of California at Berkeley.

As an agnostic, im open to anything, but i dont discard faith either, i go for something in the middle, no god, im into nature right now, taoism interests me.

I think the best way to be is to learn about all religious view points and respect them all. Then when the end comes, you can kiss whichever gods ass.

that "debate" is terrible. Newdow doesn't make a very good case for atheism/agnostism, and Knechtle is pretty much a "greatest hits" of 17th century christian philsophy.

That's what I thought. When he said that he didn't even read the bible completely just because ______ (insert example he gave with the elephant here) I thought that was kind of selfish. I think that in order to have a valid debate/argument, both sides have to concider all the options, see both "sides" to the story. I think better debate would be with Cliffe Knechtle and Dan Barker (since he preached the word of god for 19(?) years and actually knows the bible.

Michael did have a few valid points though.

Well, if Dan Barker was on this I don't think the debate would be presented in a christian site http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

One of the best modern atheist debators, an ex-christian who knows much about "the faith."
