View Full Version : There's no God. When will you realize this?

Or what, were your whole family born into religion, thus, forcing you to believe?

Didn't God, "supposedly", create us all?

If so, why all the different religions.

If we're all brothers and sisters why are there different Gods?

That's why I don't believe.

Every religion thinks they're right.

It's because they are all wrong. Religion was created to control the masses. Anyone who goes along is a brainwashed follower that needs to wake up and actually think.

I think all the threads made by the religious should be put in the paranoid delusions forum. Just my opinion...

Woah Mr Marx!

Although I do not doubt you when you say "they are all wrong", you must bear in mind that the controlling aspect of religion ("to control the masses") has only come around in recently modern times.

Religion was formed because people saw (and still do) the need to have an entity provide for them what they can't on their own eg. sun gods, river gods. People aren't comfortable with simple fate, and feel that there must be something governing their existence.

Believing in a god, or a creator, or a grand design to the universe is different than following organized religion.

Pretending you know the truth in this world is foolish. Saying "There is no god" is pretending to know the truth. IMO.

.... I honestly don't know where to start. You have got to be the dumbest person I've ever met,(on this site) second only to digital_savior. CONTROLLING THE MASSES IS EXACTLY WHAT YOUR SECOND PARAGRAPH ENTAILS. In your first paragraph you say that controlling the masses is only something in recent times, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? The governments of the old had to have ways to keep their people happy, they had to give a reason to "live". That is controlling the masses, when you keep them happy then the king stays king much much longer.

Please don't post here before you actually know what you are talking about.

This week, it just happened that God pulled off a hat trick on the same day – well, he did – on the same day, there were three major holidays: the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi for the Christians, Ramadan started, and Roshashona all fell on the same day. Now, if all three groups believe so fervently – you know where I'm going with this—

RUSHDIE: [laughs] Yeah, go on.

MAHER: --isn't it obvious somebody is wrong? [laughter] And if somebody is wrong, aren't they all wrong?

Many people who cannot distinguish spirituality from religion have the same problem.

Put simply, the God I know is nothing like the God you do not believe in.

My God neither rewards nor punishes nor judges, simply loves and creates; my God wants nothing from me or anyone else.

err, no. religion has less influence on people today (in modern countries) than in the past 5,000 years.

unless you are referring to the modern age as the fucking bronze age, you are completely wrong.
