Religions are mostly just to give people closure about death, and why we exist. They give us morals to live by and rules for a society. Trying as hard as possible to not make this sound ridiculous as many people do, would't believing in the jedi morals and attitudes twoard life be a great set of morals to live by. Is it sad that I and many people find a movie's group of people a more sensible religion to follow by? Well i can't say that i really follow the "religion" to heart, but doesnt it make more sense then most mainstream religions. Doesnt it make more sense to say that there is some energy that flow through everything and binds all of the atoms of the universe together, and we all a part of that. Christanity teaches violence and ignorance to many groups. Their god kills people because he doesnt like how they live. Yet if you were to follow the morals of the jedis, i think we would all be much happier.

I take your point, but what do you mean that the Christain god kills people for no reason other than He doesn't like how they live?

That fiasco was Gods fault in the first place for allowing the angels to have sex with human women who then gave birth to weird things which God obviously didn't like (he probably felt threatened by the offspring, the old Testament God was sooo insecure, he even admits to being jelouse)
Maybe you should start a religion based on the Jedi teachings, people won't become Jedi's because it is from a movie and people generaly like to stay in the real world (whatever they percieve that to be).

Genesis 6:5 The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. <<It was a bit more than lifestyle issues.

My post wasnt so much to bash the christian god, it was more to bring up the topic of isnt it easier and more sensible to believe the movie's religion then the one that what seems like everyone else does

Yeah he did, what do you think this line means?
the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Genesis 6
The watered down version of the bible doesn't give it as the explanation as to why he flooded the earth but then he wouldn't look like a very nice God would he?

sounds like they were being fruitful and multiplying, filling the earth and subduing it. oops, shouldnt have listened to that!
the jedi religion sounds like a good set of morals to live by. unfortunately, you get vadars in there just like you get hitlers, napoleans and tomas de torquemadas with christianity. oh well!

HaHaHa thats not watered down at all. Read 5 verses futher and you get exactly what I said. As for being fruitful and multiplying, there wasn't anything wrong with that part, its more about them having every thought be evil.

Most world-wide religions arnt as much helping people deal with death, but helping people deal with life.
These religions exist to give us the hope that we will be saved. The hope that we will get what we deserve. The hope that we will be rewarded for all the shit we had to take.
That's why Christianity flourished on the graves of the old Roman gods. If you wanted to get into Elysium (prolly spelled wrong) you had to be a hero. Christianity allowed the common do-gooder to move on up, metaphysically speaking.

I contend that the events in the book of Enoch, where "angels" invade the land and cause human women to bear giants, is actually a distorted record of a more advanced civilization from deeper into Africa invading Mesopotamia.
I mean, c'mon, it's highly unlikely that real angels came down and fucked all the brown wimmen. But a bunch of big-ass Mandingos who were more developed charging in and teaching the Mesopotamians about such arcane things as paint and astronomy?
I think it's possible.

Well if it did happen its not likly to happen again after God got so pissed off the first time. Thats why Angels don't have genitals, have you never watched Dogma?

Angels were created immortal, so they don't reproduce (especially with human women).

see i think if we just ended all of this argueing with lightsabers,it'd be faster, but seriously, angles this and that, i think that the jedi religion is a little more sensible, how energy binds all the particles in the universe together, everything is made of the same thing

Fucking Christians, can't resist any opportunity to prosletyze.
I think that in Australia we had a census and jedi became a religion because a significant portion of the community said it was their religion

Dude, you do realise that there’s a real philosophy/religion like the Jedi one, don’t you?
It’s called Taoism, it’s pretty neat.
