My life has been shit lately. I've tried drugs and many other vices to help me deal with my shit, but nothing has worked. After some thought, I decided that turning to religion *may* be worthwhile.

You see, I've always been of the opinion that any who follow a religious text are mindless sheep that are incapable of forming their own opinions, but then I realized that I knew nothing of their religions, and that I was being a hypocrtical shit. I have taken a "Philosophy of religion" class, which was fun and all, but I didn't really learn much.

Since I'm surrounded by it in daily life, I thought I'd start with the christian religion.

So here you go, this is to any logical follower of christ that is tired of being called a dumbass and a sheep; convince me that your text is the true word of god.

Honestly, The Holy Bible and its Christian followers are quite narrow-minded and ill educated. There are many Apocryphal texts which are quite blatantly orthodox in their message and would well compliment the canonized texts.

Take, for example, The Gospel of Nicodemus (Acts of Pilate). Many of the sayings therein are identical to those which are said in the canonized Gospels. It simply has them in context of the history of it all. The basic events and understanding of Pilate and the situation is there as well, it is simply a more thorough investigation of the events surrounding the resurrection... Obviously, there are more texts which are like this. The Gospel of Thomas is probably the one you're most familiar with. Around 90% of what is in that Gospel is repeated in the canonized Gospels. It works reverse of the previous example though. The sayings in Thomas are put into context and given storyline in the canonized Gospels.

you'll be just as bad as the people that are western christians right now. i'll bet you that at least 80% of the american christian population was just like you. they really sucked at life because they are lazy and their parents didn't know crap about raising a child.

this 80% saw the story of the prodigal son in the bible, or reading jesus forgives all no matter what bad they have done and thought to themselves, "i can still be saved because the bible said so." kind of telling God that they trumpt Him with His own Book by saying they could do whatever the fuck they want and then repent at the last minute.

seriously, turn to christianity because you want to, not because you feel it is an option you can take. and if you do choose to, make sure you find some real christians first, not the crap american churches are pumping out. but in all honesty, just stop fucking up. think about things before you do them, and stop being lazy. you dont need christianity, you just need to try. If you actually tried, you wouldnt be in the situation you are in now.

Not a matter of us wanteing to convert you, but a matter of you wanting to convert. If you truley seek answers i could probably help you a great deal.

God has a plan wich has been kept secret to most. that plan is to in due time to bring all bodies in heaven and on earth together into one, through Jesus Crist.

Pleasr feel free to ask any question you have regarding the bible and what it says.

Man, fuck that. There's no way I'm capable of any of that right now, I'll leave that for once I get things sorted out a bit.

For now, I'll just do my best to think of all people as sheep, as opposed to just the religious ones.

Don't exclude yourself my friend. We are all in this together and are mastered by something whether we acknowlegdge it or not. You will always follow something including your own desires.

There is a song that Lenny Kravitz sings. It's title is "believe". I quote:

"The son of God is in our face;

Offering us eternal grace; If you want it you’ve got to believe; ’cause being free is a state of mind; We’ll one day leave this all behind; Just put your faith in God and one day you’ll see it; If you want it you got it;

You just got to believe; believe in yourself

’cause it’s all just a game; We just want to be loved

It is profound to consider that all the things we covet in life, it all comes down to we just want to be loved.

God doesn't demand allegiance to the letter of the law or to follow in rituals of dogmatic religion. Don't be fooled by the people who focus on those things. He wants us to be free. He wants us to know Him. He wants us to know true love and know the joy of peace and contentment in knowing He is there for us always. He wants to remove your pains and burdons in life.

I can not open your eyes to Him as that takes the hands of God. I can not convince you that He exists with these words. What I can do is say to continue to seek Him if it is the sanctuary of His love for us that you desire.

You have seen the outcome of the lives of those who have chasened after the all mighty and I want you to know that it is also reserved for you. "You just have to believe."

May God bless you in abundance and I pray in the power of the name of Jesus, that you begin to see what truely is the peace and joy of knowing God through His plan of salvation.

I pray that the burdons on your heart are lifted from you and your sins are cast away and foregiven for ever as you grow in faith. Keep walking towards Him and seek Him and He will reveal Himself to your heart. However, you will not see Him until you surrender your rebellion.

In Him,

Religion is not an answer to your problems either. If you're having problems go and start seeing a fucking therapist. Get on medication if you're feeling depressed, I hate how people go and try illegal drugs before they go to the proven medications that can be given to them by their doctors. Therapists are the best dude, they can solve any problems, religion and drugs can't.

The sanctuary of repentence and reconcilliation by the grace of God has healed many. In fact a great deal of depression today exists due to the inability to be released from the burdons of ones stinging conscience.

The things of the world never seem to satisfy but we continue to run after them as if some day they will. Doing so we rack up the many drugged nights, one night stands and all the other things that just send us to our knees wondering what the point of all this is. It's like chasing after the wind. It's pointless, empty and hollow living.

I'm not excluding religion as it is a subset of rules, regualation and ceremony that has little to do with the healing done by God's hands on the hearts of those who seek Him. So I agree with you. Religion is a diversion and not an answer.

However, the barriers that keep us from knowing God are there for a reason and that reason is like a net, filtering out the bad and keeping the good. Here, in these words, the net sweeps through all that read it. God will take what is His in His time.

The Christian God will send you to Hell forever if you don't believe. Scared yet?

Now if you don't want a painful afterlife, convert, believe in God. Accept Him as your personal Saviour today. Pray for him to come into your heart.

Once you've accepted God and, oh yes, Jesus Christ, His Son, tell me, and I'll give you the list of things you ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT do if you want to make it to Heaven.

And to make it even better this list will be a conglomeration of all the 'thou shalt nots' from EVERY differnet branch of Christianity. I'm telling you, man, by the time you're done with the list, thou shalt not be able to move your fucking fingers without incurring the wrath of God and being sent to Hell.

REPENT SINNER!!!!

I've been taking those "proven" legal drugs for years. Been on zoloft, celexa, paxil and lexapro. The shit doesn't work.

hi

well, im a christian. and i have just as much freedom as anyone els, the choices are all up to me. And yet i try to do what god wants me to do, that does not mean i wont go out and have fun with my (nonchristian)friends, or stuff like that.

My point is you still have as much freedom as you have now! God only wants the best for you, he forbidds things which are nonbeneficial to you, for instance sex before marriage.. what good comes out of that???
