Christianity would teach people that, if you worship the Devil instead of God, you will go to Hell. But if you were a Satanist, and Satan was your god and you were on his side, wouldn't Satan welcome you to Hell, as opposed to torturing you for all eternity? If you worshipped satan, wouldn't Hell be just like another version of Heaven? And in that case, what is the inscentive for being a Christian not a Satanist?

Just one of may things in Christianity that seem to make no sense at all.

Satanists don't have a book with all that nifty mysticism surrounding it. Plus, they have a poor reputation.

First of all, most avowed Satanists don't even believe that God or Satan are actual deities. Most Satanists feel that "Satan" embodies naturalistic rights of human beings to do whatever they please. Its a direct stance against God. But there are some that actually do beleieve in Satan and demons.

If you take the Scriptual route, no, Satan would not welcome you with open arms in hell. For one, Satan isn't in Hell. He's awaiting judgement. In the meantime he goes to and fro on the earth seeking devour people like a roaring lion. (taken from Job and 1st Peter). Secondly, Satan hates your everloving guts. He ain't your pal because you do his bidding. He was cast out of heaven over his growing jealousy of humans free-will granted by God. God gave the angels to decide. Since they intimately knew God, they knew what the implications were. 2/3 rebelled anyway and are awaiting judgement. Their sole function is to entice you away from God just to scew you over (for lack of a better word). They hate your guts Moby no matter what you try to do for them.

Thats the Scriptual outlook. But you can believe whatever you want.

You worship Satan, you'll get sent to Hell. God is Love, and Hell is eternity without God. But wouldn't that logic say Satan is Hate? No. He's just the bad-ass who God cast down. You try to worship his failure, and God will send you away from Him, and Satan won't do a damn thing about it anyway. You're devoting you're life to turning away from God anyway, so he won't have any qualms about seperating you from Him in the long run, since it's what you wanted in the first place.
