today in my biology class, one of my classmates gave a presentation on natural selection and charles darwin. the student did this on his own while everyone else did theirs on the various stages of human evolution. this was due to his lack of belief in human evolution itself. the question i pose to you all is: were you to be in this student's position, would you have conformed, going with the rest of you class; or would you get an alternate assignment as he did. what about in your own position?

I dunno.. i guess if it majorly fucked with his beliefs... on the other hand, I mean, I was forced to do assignmenst at my Christian private school that assumed I had a belief in God, Jesus, and the Bible, when I dont at all.. soo..

That's bullshit. They can't force you to do shit. I went to a Muslim school, and the few Christians and orthodox students there didn't have to go to Islamic scripture classes or go to Friday Prayers. That time was free for them and they could do whatever.
