well my family has a history of witchcraft/shamanism going back to before we imigrated to the us, but the generation befor me (mom aunts grandmother) have all converted to christianity and destroyed anything realting to our past belifes.
so im taking it upon myself to at least try to keep the old traditions alive by studying shamanism, but.... i cant find anything realting to it. there is one bullshit store by my house that sells "new age religous books" but most of it all turns out to be "LIEK OMG IM TOTALY A TEENAGE WITCH NOW!" shit and i seem to die a little everytime i go there.
so for the sake of keeping an old family tradition alive can any of you point me to anything worth while in my pursuit of learning about shamanism? (celtic or northern european )

I know where you're coming from. My parents were in a coven when I was concieved and they decided they wanted to raise me in the temple so they quit, but I was raised with a lot of Wicca influence. I learned to read palms, and tarot, and cascades. But, I hated it in high school, which is kind of ironic, but I did because it had been shoved down my throat so much. I've done quite a bit of reading on the subjects of paganism and heathenism since then, though and I currently observe major Wiccan and Duid holidays.
Cheers,

I don't know if it is completely fair to judge people based on what religion they go by.
A person following the teachings of Jesus wouldn't and shouldn't be a bad person.

That wouldn't be researching family traditions ,though, would it?
Why not single out shamanism? It worships no false idols ,it has nothing to do with the devil. It doesn't refute god , or Jesus as your saviour. Shamanism seems to be able to fit into other religions as well if you're so inclined.
It's nice to see you didn't come on with ,"I am teh Shamans .. wh els is shams? uber power animal wil pwn ure uber pwer anmal!!"
Then I'd be upset ....
All sources about shamanism I've ever looked for have been bullshit ,although You might wanna check out BLTC ...
Have A Nice Day.
