Another interesting thing to note: Lucifer was not originally a reference to Satan, in the Hebrew Bible it was the name of a Babylonian King, meaning either Morning Star or Light Bearer. Later when a monk was translating the Bible he misunderstood and took it to be a reference towards Satan.

Azazel is another demon mistaken as a reference to Satan, and where the whole Goat connection came from. Azazel was said to be a Goat God in the middle east worshipped by herders and sheperds in the area, probably for protection of their goats. Later on people took it as yet another reference to Satan.

An Interesting thing about the God of the Hebrew bible is its competative reference to other God's such as Baal, as if it almost acknowledges their existance but is competing to defeat it.

Baal was the Chief "God of God's" in a certain area of the Middle East after he defeated his enemy competitor in battle for the title. The stories of God's doing battle for titles may be a reference and metaphor to Kings and Chiefs in the area doing battle for titles.

Answering back to people when it is not required gives the impression you need to prove something to them. Privately accepting their comments as true or false might be better. If they ask you a direct question then answering it might be fine, but standing up and saying "I know! I didn't mean that!" Doesn't look as cool as other options! But of course you know you can do whatever you want, this was just a suggestion!
