So there i was, just innocently sitting in church reading the bible(not sure which one,even though it may be the defining factor to my question...I'm United Meth. if it helps) when all of a sudden I came upon a part in the front of the bible where it tells us the forbbiden practices,teachings, etc. and i noticed that even though it does in fact say that god is dipleased with men who lay with others disgusts him, it says nothing of women. normally this wouldn't be a big thing except that i noticed that it went into great detail about sexual practices with Family Members,Married Women, Men, Animals, and many others but he didn't bother to mention girl on girl...why?

Most notably in I Corinthians, the only New Testament direct statement on homosexuality. People continue to quote Leviticus despite it being solely Jewish law when I Corinthians says the same thing but can't be proven inaccurate when dealing with Gentiles. Because those who believe normally don't know their faith well.

People continue to quote Leviticus because they seem to want people to poke holes in their aguments.

People who thump their bibles and quote Leviticus should also not be eating shellfish, should be safricing lambs and collecting the blood, and all sorts of other silly things.

Me, I'd just as soon encourage them to keep quoting Leviticus so they can keep looking like idiots and I can keep making fun of them. But that's just me.

Also note the part of the bible wherein god blew up Sodom.

A moderate understanding of the Bible would show that there is equal disdain for women that engage in homosexual activities.

Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

About men.

Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

About men.

Romans 1:26-27 - For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature, and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Women too were engaging in homosexual activities, and it is not spoken about in a positive way.

All inclusive statement. Men and women who engage in unnatural sexual activities are sinning.

1 Corinthians 6:18 - Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Fornication: Sexual intercourse between partners who are not married to each other.

It is important to understand the definition of the word "fornication" as it relates to the homosexual movement to obtain rights to marry. They can avoid fornication if they become married, thus destroying the holy institution of marriage.

Getting back to the point, however, homosexuals were not permitted marriage when these commandments were written. Marriage was, and still is, considered a holy covenant between a man and a woman, before God (in Christianity).

I hope I have made it abundantly clear that homosexuality is not solely forbidden for men. That would be a ridiculous conclusion to make.

Except the same commandments are repeated in the New Testament.

Old Testament commandments (Mosaic Law) were for Jews, not Christians.

Any Mosaic commandments which are repeated again in the New Testament are for Christians. Therefore, none of the dietary laws apply to us.

I'm confused here. You, Digital, say that the Bible commands us not to perform unnatural sexual acts and have sex with women, and yet you still have sex with hyoglyphx, how do you reconcile that?

And if you'll notice, God doesn't injunctify (my word) against lesbianism, the (wannabe) Apostle PAUL does. The Apostle Paul was also celibate. How do you trust a celibate person to injunctify against certain sexual practices? It's like the Pope injunctifying against the use of condoms. Utterly ridiculous.

That made absolutely no sense.

If people want to quote Leviticus as ammunition against gays they can't selectively pick-and-choose which passages they want based on convenience.

If such commandments are repeated in the New Testament and therefore deemed more appropriate to the current times, they should quote the ones in the New Testament.

That's like trying to lock somebody in the stocks and quoting an old Roman law about whateverthat hasn't been followed (nor has its government existed) for centures when there's a perfectly good modern law under the current government that covers the whole thing.

i must say, that even though i'm not fond of your message, i do respect the way that you post 'just the facts' with no judgment or sarcasm. when someone asks a serious question on the fundamentals or reasons behind christianity you reply with well thought out posts with supporting evidence.

i like that, this forum needs more people like you (even if many of your posts get to many people (and me)). good work.

How is sticking a penis in a poop hole or a tongue in a gina...sex? It might fall under the category of Lewd.

According to typical religious ideals a man is created for a woman and vice versa, then we have the parts and the procreation as proof.
