Today I asked my mother - who is a devout Christian - who she loved more, me or god. The answer she gave wasn’t the answer I expected: she said she loves me but loves god too, and loves and puts god before everyone else.

So I asked her if god told her to kill me would she. She got this smirk on her face, and tried to wiggle out of it. She said: “I’d have to think about it.” I’d have to think about it! She didn’t say no, she said “I’d have to think about it.” She also said “I don’t think I could kill you, but I also don’t think I could say no to god.”

Also, to try and make me feel better, she said my sister - who is also a devout Christian - knows this. This doesn’t upset my sister and she loves god more than everyone else too. Was this meant to make me feel better?

This really fucking hurt. I don’t believe in god, so to know my mother loves an imaginary being more than me, puts him before me, and might kill me if it told her to, really fucking hurt and upset me.

Religious people are so sick in the head. Fuck, I’m pissed.

My parents love god more than me, too.

Make sure you point out the difference between how much love they really feel and what how they think they're supposed to feel. Otherwise they might just end up saying something that isn't true to confirm their state of being a Christian.

If they are REALLY religious, they might actually love God more. Or if they're a loser with no friends and family. But otherwise, they might just be deluding themselves. Religious people have a way of doing that.

I bet if it came down to the nut-cutting, she wouldn't be able to do it.

Hope that's a sliver of consolation to you.

P.S. You should challenge her with that. Be sure and sleep with one eye open from there on out, if she's really as devout as you say she is. You just never know about people.

I meant if God physically came down and talked to her. He did a similar thing in the bible to test Abraham. I believe in God, and I know I have never and will NEVER become dilusional like that. Love of Allah, and Love of a Child should not be even comparable or in the same context. They don't love Allah like they love their child. Also there is no need to love the prophet, he was a simple messenger, but just a man, all religious adoration is for Allah.

You can love your child completely, and love Allah completely, because the love of a child and the love of God are not the same thing!

k, but the Qur'an never mentions him being tortured, instead the Qur'an said he was protecting while giving the Qur'an and that no one can harm him. I do not believe in the Hadiths, they were written after Muhammed by people who were not present, furthermore the Qur'an is the guide and provides a good idea of how Muhammed was.

Also all the Prophets are equal, Muslims, they were messenger, deserve respect, but they do not ask for or want adoration, all adoration is for Allah, and this is what their message was: Not one of them said "Love me instead of God" there is a revelation about this in the Qur'an too.

They were all wonderful people according to the Qur'an who were righteous and upright, but they were servants of God like you and me, so dont love them, love God and follow the Qur'an.
