Yo!
I have rediscovered some christian values over the past few years.
I went to a catholic school when I was young, and all of the stuff there just went over my head, cos I was just a kid.
So I forgot about everything, and never really believed in God, but I know a lot about the bible, just because it has been hammered into my head.
And over the past few years, I have thought alot about God and christianity, and view it like this.
I don't think Jesus was devine... well, not anymore devine than you or I.
Let me start over.
I believe God means Love. Litraly. Go through the teachings of Jesus and replace the word God with Love, and it makes alot more sense.
And by love, I mean all feelings of affection, even to people you don't know.
If I do something nice, I'll do it because of a love I have for that person, even if it's helping someone across the street, and I never met them before, I do it because I have some like toward the person I supose. If you want, you can call that God helping me do a good deed.
So, I see Jesus as just a guy that went and thought about things, and then thought 'hang on, we could all live alot better off if we all loved one another a little more'
He then got together some mates, and went around telling people they can be nicer to eachother, if they do this and this and this...
I don't believe he did miricles, I think they are just examples.
It is impossible to feed 5000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish, BUT, it is also pretty improbible that if 5000 people were going out for the day to listen to a guy talk, they would only bring out 5 loaves and 2 fish between them...
The moral of that story, I think, is that Jesus taught a group of people to share, and everyone was fed. So, I guess the miricle was, he got 5000 people to share their food with eachother.
So, by this logic, anyone can be the same as Jesus.
I could go out now, and start telling people that I think we could all live better if we loved people a little more, and just try to spread a message of love any way I could, as far as I could, and I would be the new Jesus.
Many people would hate it, and call me crazy, but that happened to Jesus too. If I knew deep down that love is the answer, then I would fight for it.
And a little part of me wants too.
What do you think?
