Note: I don't believe in this. I also do not believe in Adam and Eve, I would just like to get this story, as to where it makes a bit more sense.

Any input from anybody is much apprieciated.

Okay, so. I was browsing wiki and clicking on the links on the page and some how I got to "Lilin". Supposivly Lilth(Female Mesopotamia demon, which is believed to harm male children) was Adam's wife at some point. I was talking to my dad about it and he started to yell at me saying "Adam's wife was not a demon! Eve was not a demon" so I gave up asking for his explination.

Here's the link incase you'd like to take a look yourself (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilu)

In some legends, Adam had a wife named Lilith. She was NOT made from his rib. Long story made short, she refused to be his bitch, invoked God's name (a big no-no at the time), and left. Adam didn't like this, so God sent three angels after her, but she was with fallen angels and producing children.

These children are the lilin you read about. Basically, they're demons.

The angels said that, for every day Lilith wouldn't return, they'd kill 100 of her children. She said no and that she'd kill Adam's children w/ Eve in retaliation.

Supposedly, if you put the names of the 3 angels near the baby, she'll spare it. But that's Lilith.

I read about her after I read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, b/c the Witch was one of Lilith's descendents http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

Wow, thank you.

Also, I loved the Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe. I didn't know that though. Does it explain it in the books, or did you just figure it from overobsession with them?

LOL

I read a lot, so scenes tend to stick with me. And that was when one of the children asked if the Witch was human and, the beaver, I think, said that she likes people to think so, but she was a descendent of Adam's first wife Lilith. After that, I looked into it http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

Glad I could help. But parents who are traditional don't care to learn about it. My mother's the same way, "Adam was only married to Eve!"

Guess we're just rebels of a cause, huh? http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)

Wait, was she his wife before or after Eve? If before Eve, why isn't she mentioned in the bible? If after Eve, did Adam divorce Eve and then remarry her? WHAT THE FUCK?

She was his wife before Eve. She's not mentioned in the Bible because it was 1. cut out and 2. it showed women could fight and argue w/ their husbands, which was a big no-no at the time.

Lilith is a female Mesopotamian night demon believed to harm male children. In Isaiah 34:14, Lilith (לִּילִית, Standard Hebrew Lilit) is a kind of night-demon or animal, translated as onokentauros; in the Septuagint, as lamia; "witch" by Hieronymus of Cardia; and as screech owl in the King James Version of the Bible. In the Talmud and Midrash, Lilith appears as a night demon. She is often identified as the first wife of Adam, a legend that arose in the Middle Ages.

and as for Adam and Eve, I don't believe they were the first humans, but that Adam, or Atum as the egyptians called him, was LUCA...Who tha FORK is Luca? Luca stands for Last Universal Common Ancestor, basically a single cell which multiplied and self divided in the oceans of Earth after being manifested by certain conditions out of carbon matter (mud).

So I believe Adam was the ancestor of all life on Earth, not a man, so be nice to all your brothers and sisters who live on Earth, from a little gnat to a big round cat! You are all the Children of Adam!
