This thread might be inappropriately titled. However.
I live across the road from a church, recently bought (for £6 million) by an evangelical Christian church group. You know the sort.
They're making their presence felt, leaflets delivered all the time, and forever knocking at my door asking if I would like to accept Jesus into my life.
Their most recent innovation is producing miniature newspapers, entitled "City News", entirely filled with ridiculous propaganda.
"After noticing a neighbour's terrible body swelling disappear, my mum enquired how she managed it and was told about the strong prayers at the UCKG HelpCentre."
"My spouts of depression turned me into a very pessimistic person. I couldn't concentrate at work; I wasn't eating properly and was trying to curb my insomnia by drinking myself to sleep. I attempted suicide three time. I turned to UCKG after all my efforts had failed. I needed hope and strength to keep on. I got this through the prayer and advice sessions. Now I've got a good job, I sleep well and feel like a new person. I have made a new beginning and have a positive outlook for the future."
And a small piece entitled "Left at the altar - four times!"; "I just felt so empty. This was why I came to the UCKG HelpCentre. I had an emptiness, which desperately needed to be filled."
I utterly resent how this targets the weak and vulnerable in an underhand way, disguised as a newspaper.
So my question is: How would you retaliate against this?
Edit: And what are your opinions on this whole style of Christianity? (Because I realise this just sounded like some lame "REVENGE!1!" thread. I don't necessarily want "revenge").
