What Thomas Jefferson did: cut out the virgin birth, all of the "miracles", except for the resurrection, and paste it all to make the no-bullshit bible.
Doing so shows Jesus' philosophies of life, excluding superstition. In fact, a banned 2,000 year old Gospel says the exact same things. The Gospel of Thomas ( in no relation to Thomas Jefferson ) pops up, showing several quotes Jesus said, that were considered "heresy", making the early church destroy all knowledge of the historical Jesus.
The Gospel of Thomas shows a different Jesus: a preacher who talked about parables, wisdom, and enlightenment - not special effects and miracles that the normal Bible talks about.
If anybody is interested in reading Jesus' words without the hocus pocus, I'd suggest you read either the Jefferson Bible or the Gospel of Thomas.
