Followers of scientology are like people who are in those fucked up relationships where they hate someone but love them but hate them but they never really get what they want but they get a taste of it, enough to keep them coming back.

After being involved with a relationship like this I can see the similarities.

Both are full of lies and trust issues. The victim in both cases is hoping to get something fulfilling and is innocently naive in placing their trust in the hands of people who are essentially monsters.

The victim has so much emotional/monetary capital invested in the situation that they cannot back out or else look stupid and be living a lie and in both cases they need to reconsider their identity and what they 'know' before they can proceed with their life.

In short its hard to believe the truth when it contradicts what you base your existance around.

There is a doubt created constantly that is constantly being filled. This cycle is addictive because of the highs although incredibly harmful because of the lows and needs to be identified.

Once it is identified the perosn must either correct what is occuring or get out completely.
