I havn't thought about this in a long time but it came to my mind again once a comment was made about 50 min's ago of gods power.

What are the limits to gods power?

I tend to see them but I would like to assume that I am wrong. My dad was talking to my step mom about god and she was saying how she was praying over and over to have god help her but it wasn't working and my dad said that you are doing somthing wrong then and thats why god isn't doing it. I remember being a kid praying for god to do things but never actually seeing instant results.

I concluded however that there is a god and that his power probably has limits. From what I can see he can somtimes heal people and when you pray he creats a path for you.. What are every one elses opinions of the powers of god?

Supposedly (comming from a christain who doesn't believe 99.99% of the bible), you have to believe that god will do something for you, and he will... Let me find the passage... Ugh, thanks for making me do this.

Mark 11:22-25

22-"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. 23-"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24-Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25-And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

Did that make sense?

Edit: I think if you totally believe something will happen your mind can either play tricks on you or actually change your out look on something. Say your really sad, you pray to go to be happy, you really believe that he is making you happy... Same as meditation, you really don't even need to pray to get your mind to release the endorphins to make you happy. Mind over matter.

It all goes back to Sigmund Freud, if a person has a bad outlook or is very depressed, it will be mich harder to get rid of sickness. Good outlook, it becomes easier.

Rust posted a great response the last time someone made this ridiculous assertation. He said something to this extent:

"Just because I can say 2 + 3 = 324154 doesn't make it true."

I could imagine it in my mind but in reality i know it would just be 5 like always. course when you say anything that can be imagined is possible i highly doubt that. what your saying only happens in cartoons.

How can you be sure that what you call reality isn't just your imagination. An imagined representation of a universe that you developed as an infant and then became absorbed in.

Free your mind Neo.

How can you be sure that you're not killing people across the world when you type? How can you be sure that there isn't an invisible machine powered by your keystrokes that is responsible for unmentionable sinister actions?

Don't think you should make sure that is not the case before you postulate on 'The Matrix'?

I bet you find my question ridiculous, yet find yours sane...

Well, since you've kept on typing that either means you've proven that there isn't a killing machine powered by your key strokes, or that you don't care...

As for your knew question, maybe I'm him... OooOooOooO Spooky OooOooOooO!

It's a possibility.

However it's one that I wouldn't lose sleep over.
