Though I've been with &Totse for the better part of a decade and have been modding for nearly five years here in the religion forum I seem to be one of those members that just slips under peoples radar. It works well for me. But, you can understand my surprise and delight when I found someone made a thread about me in Bitch & Moan. It's so rare anyone even notices me on here it practically made me giddy.

They're complaint was that I close too many threads and don't explain why I close them. What's funny is that most everyone else complains that I don't close enough threads, and the reason I've stopped explaining why I close them is because I keep closing the same threads over and over again. It gets a little tiresome explaining the same stupid shit to the same stupid people.

Of course, then they think I'm being harsh. I should allow more room for idiocy, ignorance, and all over retardation.

What do you all think? How am I doing? How could I be better at it? Am I too harsh or too lenient? Anyone have any suggestions of how to do things differently of how to improve upon things?

I havn't been on totse for a while but when I was a daily poster you were a very fair moderater and probably less harsh than some others (which isn't a bad thing).

i think that you should keep general explanations in word documents that have blank spaces for the names so you can just copy and paste. you close topics that i think should be open and you leave topics open i think should be closed. oh well

You know I have an e-mail address posted. Everyone is totally welcome to e-mail and report any topics they think should be closed or reopened. I can't make everyone happy, because everyone is different, and I'm not going to drive myself crazy over it.

Actually this person's complaint was that you closed a specific thread (not "too many"), along with the other follies mentioned.

My point was that, if people have an opinion on something it makes a lot more sense to e-mail me and notify me about it than to just go around bitching and moaning. Because that's not going to fix anything.

What I meant was, a lot of all this confusion about what should be left open and what should be closed would be taken care of if more people who care as much as they say they do, would tell me directly, when it happens.

I have no complaints with the wonderful job you are doing here online and I don't find that you are harsh at all, in fact you seem extremely tolerant to alot of the stupidity and repeated posts that go on here, only deleted the really stupid ones, or off topic ones. I've seen some stuff that seems like it should've gotten closed stay on and survive here and I don't find you to be harsh at all.

When you close a thread it is sort of self explanitory: Been Done Before/Too Silly/Off Topic.

I want to congratulate you on the fantastic job you're doing here. I SORT of wish you would be a little more active in the topics and threads with your opinions and stuff, you usually just post in the interesting ones, a small comment here and there maybe, but never really participate in any big debates?

i don't regularly post here, so i don't expect my opinion to hold much weight. there have been a few times, looking through here, i fail to understand why some threads are kept open. for example, there were a few blank threads that i never saw closed or deleted. i can't recall a time where i've questioned a thread closing in here.

I think you are fine, don't worry about it. I don't know who was complaining but my guess is that it was someone newer. I've been around Totse for a good time, and I like the way this forum is run.
