I'm not claiming that, but it's merely the start of a long banter with myself.

According to most christian sects (if not all), in order to get into heaven, you have to show remorse and repent for your sings and accept jesus christ as your savior.

Here's a question I had for myself, what about all the peoples around the world that don't get the chance to hear the good word of god (christianity). IE children dying of starvation in Africa.

If a person lives out his life without ever knowing of christianity, not knowing of the bible, with no way of being informed, even if he's a good person and does what's right, he's still damned to an eternal hell? According to most preachers I've spoken with, it's dead set in the bible, if you don't believe in Jesus, you don't get in heaven.

So that led my mind to wandering. Suicide is considered a mortal/unforgivable sin. Well what about eternally damning many millions of people to hell. Is that a mortal sin?

I'm not talking about God damning those people, I'm talking about you and I. The bible was made so it could be used as a message of god, to teach us about him and his son, and whatnot and soforth, right?

So isn't it our obligation to spread that word to as many people as possible, to those who haven't heard the word of Christ?

Sure, some (a small few) already do and go out on missionaries, but isn't it the responsibility of all christians?

If so, and if condemning millions of people to hell out of your lack of action is indeed a very very bad sin, that would mean most christians are destined to hell regardless (assumint christianity is indeed the true religion).

Just something I was thinking about at work (my mind wanders alot).

I am not a christian or hold any ties to any specific religion, but I do believe there is something out there (deism).

I grew up in a christian family and so I was just wondering about this today.

What do you guys think?

Sorry for it being long winded, just wanted some viewpoints on it.

And yes, there are alot of assumptions in there, but if all those assumptions are correct, that would just suck http://www.totse.com/bbs/frown.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/frown.gif)

Too long / old / overdone / didn't read.

NEDM would make this thread worth the bandwidth.

It's one of the major catches with Christianity. Yes, according to The New Testament - as a Christian - you are obligated to spread the word of god to as many infidels as possible, otherwise you're condemning them to Hell by default. Eternal damnation by way of apathy. So, basically if you subscribe to the Christian belief you're signing up to make the word of god your word and go all over the word trying to convert people.

Most Christians don't do this because it's tedious (and sort of rude to some people). But, there are a lot of organizations that do do this and it can be a very spiritually enriching for some people. Some people feel very compelled to do this and to become missionaries - they feel a strong calling for it; and many of these Christian missionary organizations that go to third world countries to spread their word of god do a lot of good for the countries they visit.

Bottomline is, as a Christian who accepts the Lord Christ as their lord and savior and who repents for their sins and truly cares for the infidels, god will forgive you for not going to the depth of Africa and touching lepers. The Christian god is very forgiving. But, it is a sort of obligation nonetheless that could possibly enrich your faith.

Cheers,

Lost

Christianism is just a cult that succeeded and their "messiah" is another bullshitted myth.

"Hey look i'm the son of god, i just came here to get killed so that all the world can see how godly i am and how you should worship christians or go to hell"

Talk about retarded crap...
