Recently I have been wondering about a lot of things, particularly the whole "my religion is correct and yours isn't fiasco."

Personally I don't think that any religion is flawlessly divine. But instead that all religions have their own unique view points, and that we can accumulate their teachings into something greater and less close-minded if we choose to.

A little something my Islamic teacher told me....

quote:Christian to Deist: OMGZ YOU DONT BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS! YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!!!!11

Muslim to Deist: GOOD! Stay that way, do not convert to anything! Just believe that there is a God, be a good person, and that's it!

Quoting something stupid someone has said and calling it an authentic representation of the religion they claim to follow only makes you look dumb.

When people start fighting over their belifs, their usually not following their belifs in that same action. I dont follow any specific religion, because they all have their dogmatic crap.

But people overall should try to refrain from being selfish, which leads to negative experiances in the world. Most religions try to teach that i think.

Promoting your own while demoting anothers is selfish, which is why its a bad thing to do.

That's what I'm talking about are the suttle similarities in most religions that relate with one another despite their obvious differences and beliefs.

If they deny Judgement Day and Disobey the revelations of the Qur'an or the message of Islam when it comes to them they will burn in the FIYA

Very thoughtful of you. Open mindedness is the key to understanding something as chaotic as our reality.

Also your right, no religion is flawless, anything written by, translated by, and interpreted by humans, is going to have it's share of errors. We as humans try to understand as much as we can and try to limit errors by using the scientific method etc. Unfortunately not all things are in the scope of the scientific method and it is inadequate at testing them. (certain aspects of religion, ufos, remote viewing) When considering a large range of religions it is important to look for patterns, also don't overlook "open source" religion, because although arguably it is not divinely inspired, it is still written by humans, just like every other religion.

Very well said, it is nice to see someone else who realizes this.

Or just believe in nothing, be a good person, and that's it! Amazing!

Muslims can be are often are as intolerant of other religions as Christians are.

Most religions are the same actually. If you look closely the same aspects appear in almost all of them. Yet Christianity still sticks out. If you look at the major religions of the world: Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity; Christianity is the only one that actually sticks out, for it is the only one with grace. All the others require something from you. Christianity tells you that you can do nothing to gain salvation. Therefore those people who are truly christians do not do things because they fear eternal damnation or because they want a greater place in heaven, but simply because they are now free to love others. They are free from the fear of death or hell or getting a better status. I have true freedom in Christ. Now I do not condemn all other religions for that is not my place, but I do know that there is only one way to the Father and that there is only one triune God. I know this both by faith given me through Christ by his means of Grace and History.
