Enlightened? 35% of Americans believe that the Earth is less that 10,000 years old. Many of these same people believe that a vacine that could prevent a deadly cancer will corup the youth.

Actually he's talking about the vaccine for the human papilloma virus which is believed to cause various cancers of the female reproductive organs. Recently a vaccine for HPV was developted. The vaccine is most effective when administered before a woman starts engaging in sexual intercourse. Various religious groups are exherting political pressure to prevent the distribution of the vaccine because they feel it will encourage teengaers to engage in pre-marital sex.
