I'm Wiccan, and I follow the whole deal of spelling it "magick" because that's what was in the first books I read, but sometimes I look at it and say "Gods, that looks dumb." I know that spelling was invented by Aleister Crowley (who by the way was one fucked-up motherfucker who could probably teach Totse a thing or two about drugs and depravity). I forget his reasoning though. So whadda ya think Totse, should I keep spelling it with a K, or am I just a stupid bitch who cannot spell?

Spell it however you want.
I use magick mostly, but it's an unconscious thing. I don't really go IT NEEDS THE K.

Wasn't he just?
It can be spelt however you want but personally I think adding the K on the end means its less likely to be confused with pulling rabbits out of the hat and circus performances, and hints thats its something a bit more serious.
I think I've read about it having slightly different meanings, but I don't remember exactly how it was. I don't think it will make much of a difference though, because I find it more stupid to be a wiccan than to spell it "magick". Personally I like the spell it "magik", but I also enjoy avoiding the use of the word.

I agree--"magick" does look a tad pretentious.
I spell it that way (and grit my teeth doing it) because it distinguishes "real" magick from "magic" as in stage illusions.
However, the difference is usually pretty clear from the context.
